It's solidly built and all operations are smooth. It comes with two ways of mounting as shown in the picture. Each way had 2 pieces, so that the window can locked fully or at a partially open position, which is good for hot summer days. Installation tip: drill pilot holes before driving the screws in to avoid cracking the wood. Think about where glass is usually inserted into the wood to avoid drilling into glass and breaking it. There's sharp dimple at the tip of the bolt for marking the hole on the other side. My dad has dementia so likes to wander at night. This lock is perfect since it pushes to lock and one quick turn of the key and it opens. Helps my mom feel secure and sleep better knowing he isn’t getting in harms way. I placed the main lock on the door then drilled an exact size hole as the sliding bolt right into the metal frame.
