Having said that, they are actually the ideal size for little fella to pop in his backpack to take on walks - my daughter takes him and his little sister out for several nature walks every week, so these books are perfect for little fella. The illustrations are very nice and cheerful, and accurate - and the facts included are spot on. Little chap is nearly 5 and really loves the books. Review: Good size for children to hold - It was fun activity to do in summer and my child loves it!

Handy travel-sized spotter book for small child
Youngest grandson is nature-mad so I bought him a few of these Usborne Minis for Christmas.
