Review: Bandsaw runs cool, smooth, and rust free - This coolant/fluid seems to work great for infrequent home use. I've used it in a 7x12 bandsaw to cut steel tubing, steel alloys, and stainless with no heat build up or chip clearing issues. I mixed the coolant with distilled water at a 10% coolant mix (recommendation to avoid rust for infrequent use), and have not had any issues with rust, bacteria, etc just letting it sit between infrequent uses (weeks between use at times). It is probably overkill for what I do, but I wanted to try a coolant that doesn't smoke. It goes like this... if doing milling or turning 5%, if you get into applications which require the lubricity, such as tapping, 10% is recommended. With carbide tooling is used, heat is often the killer. Lubrication is not as high a requirement. When tapping, lubrication is more necessary, run a higher concentration. Last note, usually the only down side in 'too much' is you waste money.
