I have a Japanese Chin he weighs 2.5kg and i bought the XXS for him which fits just right.It is soft stretchy material which holds around his body with velcro strips, he does not try and get it off so i presume its comfy. He used to suffer from travel sickness after about 2 miles.He would dribble, shake and look very miserable. The first time I used this he managed 5 miles and after a few uses he is now fine for an hour. I am pretty sure he could manage a longer journey now as he enjoys going in the car. My husband was VERY cynical when i told him i was trying one of these shirts but is impressed at the result. My daughter has a Jack Russell and she bought a small size for firework night, it reduced her dogs anxiety a lot. I would say these are worth a try, its comfy for the dog to wear and no side effects like medication. If it doesn't work for your dog you can sell second hand on e -bay!!

I have an 11 year old papillon who over the years has become progressively more scared of fireworks and bangs. I've tried all the usual treatments, adaptil, serene-ums,cd playing firework sounds etc but nothing really has made much difference.Firework season has become a nightmare as he panics and runs around in terror. So when I heard about the Thundershirt I decided it was worth trying,especially as we now have another dog and I don't want him to start copying our other dog's behaviour. I have to say I am totally impressed by it, the change in our dog's behaviour has been astonishing. He's gone from a shaking, panting bundle of terror when he hears any bangs to a fairly calm relaxed boy. It's hard to see how a little jacket can have such an effect but it has and I am absolutely delighted. Next step will be to try it out when he goes to the vet to see if it works there too!

Only been using this on my dog for about a week. It has some effect, quite how much of one I'm yet to decide, but my dog seems to be more chilled when wearing it. She is very highly strung and has anxiety towards strangers. Her instinct is to bark at people and loud noises without much thought, but when wearing the shirt she seems to think twice about it - though by no means does it suddenly relieve her anxiety, and sometimes she thinks twice and still decides that barking is her best defence. The velcro on the shirt is the loudest velcro I've ever come across, and there is lots of it, plus it makes a slight noise as my dog walks in it. So if your dog's anxiety is caused by new, loud or regular unknown noises, this probably isn't for them. My dog isn't a fan of having the shirt put on or taken off but is fine when wearing it, though she is a schnauzer and they have sensitive hearing. The fabric is softer and thinner than it appears in the images, so isn't as hindering or irritating as a coat might be. It moves and stretches with your dog's body too and once mine has had hers on for a few minutes she seems to forget it's there, which is a good thing. I'm going to use mine alongside my dog's existing exposure training, and I think this is what it's intended for, rather than a slip-on quick fix. I'd recommend it, but how helpful it is will most likely depend on your individual dog.

I read lots of reviews for this product and understood that it doesn't work for all dogs but was willing to take the chance... and I am so glad I did. One of my dogs gets over excited and anxious. Literally a few mins in her Thundershirt and she just lays down and barely moves! At first she seemed 'zoned out' and I wasn't sure I liked that but now she is used to it and enjoys getting it on. I only keep it on her about an hour or so at a time. I tried once to put it on while she was excited and it didn't really work but if you know the triggers and get it on before hand it really makes a huge difference!

Seems to work in the house, calmed him down instantly. Then I took him out for a walk and he was just as hyper and barky as normal

I was sceptical about the claims of this product, but after trying diffusers and CD's without any results, and watching our dog getting stressed every 5th Nov and Hogmany for 8 years I decided to give the Thundershirt a try. We first put it on him on Saturday afternoon, a couple of hours later the first fireworks started. We waited on his usual signs of stress, panting, pacing, shaking, but they never came. He barely lifted his head, it was amazing! It was the same on Bonfire night, he hardly reacted. The next test will be gunshot. A local hotel has clay pigeon shooting which can be heard from the park. If our walk coincides with the shoot we have to turn back, as he becomes too distressed. I plan to try it for this scenario too. NB: My dog has a long body, but is slim, I purchased the XS, based on his weight and chest measurement. However when I put it on him it looks short, it doesn't go as far down his back as it does in the picture, so I wondered if it would be less effective, but as you can see from my review it needn't have worried. Our young dog has just started showing signs of stress on long car journeys, so I plan to purchase one for her.

I purchased this my in laws dog as the past couple of years she has really struggled with fireworks. The night I purchased it she was a nervous wreck, shaking, pacing and crying. They were really concerned for her. I ordered this and they put it on her the following night. They said even though the fireworks were worse than the night before she was much calmer and even had a nap. She wore it every evening until the end of the bonfire celebrations and there was a big difference to before she had the jacket. She is an overweight lab and had size XL

This was ordered for a little female parsons jack russell (not my dog) who is inconsolably nervous of thunder and rain .. even light rain by itself with no thunder . The dog paces, scratches , panting and shaking. It's a nightmare and if it rains at night the dog wakes me up with it's performance. The jacket is well made but overpriced in my opinion (even if it did work) Ok so the first time I put it on the dog . the dog did go still and just stood there with it's eyes closed . I was delighted and really hopefully. However the next time i put the jacket on the dog it had no effect at all and it does absolutely nothing to calm the dog down during rain or thunder. We are having a night of heavy rain right now and the dog is as bad as it's ever been .. and worse than it's been for a long time. I've sprayed the stuff on the patch and everything.

Ottimo prodotto. Ho risolto il problema di lasciare la mia cagnolina sola in casa. Prima di acquistare questo prodotto non potevo nemmeno lasciarla per il tempo di fare la spesa. Al ritorno aveva grattato disperata i muri di casa. Ora la lascio con il cappottino sul divano e la trovo nello stesso posto quando faccio ritorno

My dog is about 9 lbs. It fit her very well. It was easy to put on her and is well made.

Sorry for the one star, the product was shipped promptly, well packaged and delivered on time. The quality of the product is very good, well-made and looks as if it will be very durable. However, I won't be able to confirm that last point as it won't be used. We tried it for a couple weeks with no effect on the dog, still gets very anxious and stressed during thunderstorms (I live in Singapore, so they are quite frequent).
