CSB Personal Size Bible, Black Genuine Leather, Red Letter, Presentation Page, Full-Color Maps, Easy-to-Read Bible Serif Type

This is my favorite Bible produced by Lifeway/Holman in the CSB translation. I have bought a lot of Bibles from Holman and have encountered a lot of quality controls issues. Weird spine breaks, non-symmetrical liners, misprints, bad page cuts, messy glue - ranging from their budget Leathertouch lineup all the way to their premium Holman Handcrafted product line. Even my burgundy, marbled calfskin personal size Bible is not without its defects. This Bible, however, is very well made with seemingly no defects at a reasonable price point. The genuine leather cover feels nice in the hands with an edge stitch and paste-down black vinyl liner. The sewn binding looks neat and there are no weird creases or breaks in the spine when open. It does not lay-flat. The gold gilding and gold text-overlay on the spine combined with the black genuine leather give the Bible a premium, vintage look reminiscent of a Cambridge. The pages are of reasonable thickness for a Bible this size and the text is readable; ghosting is average. Since it's intended for portability, there are virtually no margins for jotting down quick notes, etc. If you're in the market for a CSB that looks and feels premium while being durable and affordable, this is your pick. It pairs nicely with a Leuchtturm B6+ (the soft-cover edition is practically the same height/width). If you're not set on the CSB, I'd check out the ESV Personal Size Reference Bible with a similar genuine black cover. It's slightly larger with a more readable font, single-column layout, inside-column references, and a higher-quality sewn lay-flat binding. The genuine leather of the ESV feels cheaper, doesn't have edge-stitch, and the paste-down black vinyl liner isn't cut as cleanly around the corners. At this price point and size, buy both and take both wherever you go!

Well worth the price. It's such a handy compact Bible. The leather has such a great feeling to it, the paper is thick enough where there's not too much bleed through, the font is great, and I appreciate the red lettering and the fact the font size is larger than most other Bibles of its size.

This was my first CSB Bible. The size is comparable to a Pitt Minion, but the font size is a bit bigger and I find it easy to read. I have been using this Bible for my read through this year and really like the size and readability.

Important Specs: I think that the box dimensions were given as the book dimensions. Net result is that it's more delightfully compact than anticipated! Thickness is closer to 1.1 in than listed 1.25 in Width is closer to 5 in than 5.4 in Height closer to 7.5 in than 7.8 in Contrary to the images, the interior cover perimeter stitching is not red. All perimeter stitching is black. Paste-down vinyl liners are done neatly. Unfortunately, somehow in the first three days of usage, the spine tailbands came unglued from the signatures, along with what appears to be the spine reinforcement. If you know a little about proper book repair (where to glue, with what, how, etc) then this is certainly not an issue to worry about. There are no imprints of "genuine leather" anywhere on the covers. Single Red ribbon is nice, and the angled cut end was neatly sealed with heat. Size is extremely portable and usable.

the Bible is all I thought and hoped it would be. The leather binding is smooth and flexible, but not floppy. The size is perfect for portability, to church, personal reading, and easy to carry as it is only 5.5 x 1.3 x 8.1 inches, making it easy to hold for reading. It is Smyth-sewn for durability, 2 column text, topical subheadings, all in a 7.5 easy read text, font Bible Serif, bound by 2K/Denmark. It also contains a "Where to Turn" section, full-color maps, and table of weights and measures, and one bright red ribbon marker. Would I recommend this Bible? If you like/love the CSB translation, and in need of a compact well-bound Bible, this is it. This is the CSB Bible for you!

Has been a great carry Bible and closest one I could find to the size of a pitt minion. Recommend it to anyone that wants to try out before grabbing the premium option!

I’ve had this Bible for a few days now, and it’s become my main Bible over that short time. I used to have a ‘Imitation Leather’ reference CSB and I much prefer this edition. The binding is genuine leather, that feels good in the hand, and bends easily. The Bible itself has a nice heft but isn’t too heavy or at all bulky. The gold trim on the outside of the Bible is clean; the pages—crisp. There are no printing errors, and the letters are very dark and legible. Overall, I love this little thing, and I will be using it daily from here on out!

Ordered because it stated that this was the 2020 edition. Was not, it was the 2017 edition. Will be returning. Great little bible, just not the print run I was expecting. If you don't care between print years, definitely get this little guy, it's great.
