Q: How well insulated is it? Will this keep my laptop safe in an extremely hot car?

I don't know if a laptop will be safe in this insulted bag in an extremely hot car. The bag is designed to not catch on fire.

Q: is the surface sticky as is the case with some fireproof bags>

I don't know about other fireproof bags, but this one is not sticky. It feels like vinyl with a little bit of texture to it.

Q: Does this have to be open every few weeks to prevent mildew? Some boxes do and the items in my current hard box smell terrible. Looking to replace.

I had the very same problem with my metal safe/box. The mildew smell was awful. I don’t have an issue with the bag, but be sure the articles going INTO the bag have been totally aired.
