Perfect knee support...until it isn't (contact company if issue)...and a fix for the problem
Where do I begin? Very well constructed. It's made from quality materials and the attention to detail with regard to its features is excellent. It works. My kneecap doesn't shift around when I walk (use it for exercise walks and dog walking)...that occasional "niggle" of pain is gone. It's comfortable. When walking, I forget there's anything there (except for the absence of pain). The Velcro tabs don't stick out and look lumpy under my jeans. This was an unexpected bonus. It's easy to put on...my other adjustable ones always seemed to need more fiddling with to get just right. It doesn't bunch up while I'm walking...like some of the other non-adjustable ones used to do. It fits just right...it doesn't mind that my upper knee area is a bit...ahem...more developed than it should be. Ahhh....the fit....feels good. I'm glad a bought a back-up for when I wash it and it needs to dry before wearing again. I'd hate to have to substitute one of the old ones for those days. UPDATE: Three months later (wearing once a day for a 4 mile walk), the Velcro no longer sticks to the fuzzy fabric. No matter how much I bend my knee before affixing, it pulls apart the minute I start to walk (and, no, I don't walk funny). Why can't this manufacturer use Velcro for both sides of the attachment? Fuzzy stuff just doesn't hold up. [Iron-on Velcro won't hold on the fuzzy and it's too hard for me to get a needle through...I was so hoping I could fix this.] My search continues...I won't bother buying another one of these at this price. UPDATE 2 (same day as update 1): I added in one of the stars I'd deducted. TechWare contacted me without my asking...and offered a replacement for the support I'd just trashed and potentially a replacement for the second support I'd purchased at the same time as that one...which I just started using this morning and so can't evaluate it. Great customer service deserves a star of its own. Thanks, Ted! UPDATE 3: The second one I'd bought is not showing any signs of Velcro inadequacy. I'm thinking I just got a funky one the first time. Thanks, again, Ted!!! UPDATE 4: All of mine started showing signs of weak Velcro....definitely not a heavy duty version of the stuff. BUT If you otherwise like this one as much as I do, get yourself some Handy Bands (Amor Imports) to secure the knee brace straps. They work wonderfully and will extend the life of your knee brace.

Great knee brace!
(review by my husband living with bone on bone, tendonitis, fluid, on both knees) Great knee brace! I plan to buy another one for my other knee! It feels so comfortable and helps so much with support and helps me be able to do the things I need to with less pain.

So far, so good!
I was looking for braces that I didn't have to pull up over my calves/legs because it's a pain when I have pants on. Also for smaller ones than the big black ugly ones that I got from my ortho doctor. These are nice so far, they are easy to fit to your leg, and the straps hold up to motion very well. I put them on and did yard work, which entailed a lot of bending and walking around. They held up fine, no gapping or loosening of the straps, and since they don't cover as much of the leg as the others do, they were really comfortable as far as that goes. They supported my knees perfectly, I didn't have any pain or tired feeling from them. I have arthritis in my knees, no injury or anything like that, so I need just support around the kneecap. These fit the bill very well, and the color is neutral, which is also something I want. I'd recommend these to anyone who wants a decent brace for doing moderate activity. They appear to be very durable, so I'm hoping that I will get plenty of use out of them. Any changes and I will update my review.

First brace I've found for my fat legs - better movement, less pain, reduced swelling.
This is the first knee brace that I've found for my fat legs (particularly my fat thighs). Other knee braces fit the circumference of my knee and my upper calf but they don't come close to accommodating my generous thighs. Not only can I get this one on, it doesn't immediately slide down and wind up around my ankle. I need have knee replacement surgery but first I need to lose weight which is impeded by not being able to move around much due to knee pain. It is a vicious circle brought on by years of being overweight and working way too many hours at a computer - all of my own doing which I am 100% clear on. Nonetheless, I like to get up and move, walk, go places, be outside, and enjoy myself which is greatly enabled by the act of walking. I purchased this for my right knee as it is in constant pain. After wearing it for just a week, I am now purchasing another for my left knee because now that my right knee is not in constant pain, I am able to feel the pain and discomfort in my left knee. In addition to less pain I have noticed greater mobility in both forward motion and movements that put torque on my knee such as standing still and turning to the side. I can now sit in a chair and do leg lifts in an attempt to strengthen my deteriorated thigh muscles. One the brace is off, I am able to lift my knee without as much pain, use my legs to better push myself up in bed, and can more easily stand from a sitting position without fear of using too much energy and falling flat on my face. I have reduced swelling in (mostly in the back) and around (just below my knee on the upper calf). This isn't a super-duper brace with a hinge that might act as an exoskeleton of some sort but it is study neoprene and has just enough (barely) to fit around my thigh.

Just OK... Not Enough Targeted Support
I was hoping to eliminate the combo support that I have to wear on my bad knees. I wear a Physix compression sleeve under a Chopat knee strap. The Physix compression sleeve lends overall compression/support to my knee area to reduce swelling and add a little widespread stability. The Chopat knee strap is a 2 part support strap that has little neoprene "tubes" on the inside that hit right above and right below my knee to basically hold it together and keep it stable. This Techware knee brace completely covers the knee except for a hole for the knee cap. For me, it serves the same function as a compression sleeve except it gives much more firm and stable support which can be adjusted, which is great. I measured my knee as instructed and was almost in between sizes. I could have technically worn an XL but chose to size up and it was a good choice. The XXL knee brace fits perfectly. I like that it has 3 straps for more adjustability in the places I need most. The velcro is very strong and sticks where you put it without moving. It's made of thick, good quality material. Here's the part I have a problem with: while it does support my knee in an overall, widespread kind of way. It doesn't have the targeted support that I need like the Chopat knee strap. Maybe my knee is just too bad to expect too much from a non-custom made brace. However, I will say that if it just had those little neoprene "tubes" built into the underside of the brace that would hit right above and below the knee when fastened, I'd give this brace 5 stars because it would lend more stability by holding the knee joint more firmly. Just look up Mueller knee strap or Chopat knee brace and read about what I mean. Unfortunately, those straps don't have the coverage I need and this brace, while it has the coverage, doesn't have the targeted support I require. My search continues until I break down and get a knee replacement. It's an OK brace. It does stop my knee from hurting when I'm sitting around so I'm going to keep it. It just doesn't have enough support if I'm going to be active. If they ever come out with a version that has the little support tubes built in as I suggest, I'll be the first in line to get one!

Fits & Works Fine
I twisted my knee recently and it put me out of running while it heals. Not exactly sure what was damaged, but in fact it didn't bother me at first until I went for my regular run the next day. At the three mile point my knee actually blew out (astonishingly even sounding like getting a flat tire), and that was painful temporarily but still managed to finish the run with minimal pain. However, things went downhill from there and I knew a support would be needed. The TechWare brace does support the knee when putting full weight on the leg such as when standing up after being seated. Fortunately all pain goes away when walking or doing low impact exercise such as riding a bike, and so the brace is not needed. A mile down the road all pain goes away as if there was never any injury. But it comes back later, and is a real annoyance, and this is when I strap on the TechWare knee brace. The wrap design allows the brace material to be cinched up very tightly, and that provides the necessary support that holds the muscles and ligaments tightly in place, minimizing stress on the knee. I have never lost circulation in the leg while the wrap was fully tightened. It also prevents the knee pain caused when the leg is stretched straight. Keeping the leg bent somewhat at night relaxes the knee and allows all pain to subside, only returning again when hopping out of bed. The TechWare Pro knee support seems to be working fine and I intend to wear it often while the knee mends, until I can once again put full weight on the leg without feeling pain. And I trust that the knee will mend eventually just like all the other stupid setbacks I have been forced to wait out over the years. Using the injured limb while it mends has always been the remedy that will allow it to regain full abilities again. I expect the same results with my knee.

Comfortable
This brace is amazing for my husband's knee that has already had surgery for torn meniscus. It still flares up and this brace has helped a lot. He said it is more comfortable than the one from the drugstore. Great product and quality

I’m Beyond Pleased
I injured my meniscus on the right side of my left knee. I’m 53 and this is my first knee injury ever. My doctor suggested a soft knee brace. I’m a researcher so I began researching on Amazon. After spending an hour as the soft knee brace was so important to me that I got a good one: I found a beyond excellent one!!!! This soft knee brace is so well made, stays in place once you get the positioning and firmness right, it’s easy to use, and the support is phenomenal. I’m very fussy when it comes to products and I only select well made. Because I want it to do its job well and last the test of time. And this soft knee brace from TECH WARE does exactly that. I’m beyond pleased.
