Tarot Decoded provides a means to a more deeper, comprehensive and meaningful reading no matter your level of competence.
For someone like myself who has never taken the time to explore astrology, but has recently and intuitively realized it's relationship to tarot, this book is instrumental in putting those pieces together. Hazel has an incredible way of conceptualizing various aspects of the court cards, unlike anyone else I have encountered. And believe me, I have way too many self-help and tarot exercise books by many respected tarot authors, so this is saying something. She also introduces the idea of sets or patterns in layouts, unlike too many others, but also in a very condensed format. The information and the way it is presented have allowed me to provide a more comprehensive, deeper and meaningful reading for myself and others. I would recommend this book to both newbies and advanced level tarot enthusiasts!

Try again
Another tarot book that is broad and superficial in its treatment, a good review for people with G.'.D.'. background looking for a cliff notes type of manual for tarot attributions. But if you're completely new to tarot, this is not a good starter book. I also think this could've been expanded into a more comprehensive manual. There's lots of good ideas, but some could use more exposition. For example, in the Numeric Dignities chapter, she starts with sets and sequences and then briefly stirs in some modality and elemental effects on the topic. That could and should be a whole separate chapter. I blame the editors for that faux pas. I got the feeling that the publishers threw this together as a pastiche of a larger body of work as an effort to getting out of the red rather than putting out a helpful book on the subject. A worthy author and topic that warrant a little more TLC.

Superior!
Excellent material for those interested in the system of correspondences and dignities developed by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and beyond. I've been reading the cards with elemental, numerical and astrological correspondences for almost 45 years and I'm in awe of her ability to synthesize large numbers of cards in an organized and meaningful way. Now I need a hard copy to tab and annotate for reference..

One of a Kind
When I began reading Liz Hazel, immediately I fall in love with her language management. She has an outstanding dominion of Tarot and Astrology; she makes easy the blending of both. She is very precise and at the same time poetic and evocative. I had been reading and studying tarot for many years and I own a respectable collection of tarot books. Liz book is the best book that explains dignities, sequences and modes. She has a talent for writting and teaching. Will be looking forward for her next book.If you do not know much Astrology, anyway you will understand everything she explains and you will be motivated to look up and learn Astrology. [...]

tarot decoded
This book has taken a comprehensive look at information which is typically just touch upon in other books if addressed at all. What is new is her own method for combining what is usually seen as two separate systems and a more in depth explanation of information which is more often seen in appendixes. One of the most valuable pieces of advice is in the introduction;take from the book that which resonates with you because tarot is more than a system and ultimately the most unique piece of the puzzle is the reader.

Highly Recommend
Highly recommend. "Tarot Decoded," definitely can take the serious tarot student to the next level. Ms. Hazel has a couple of her own tarot/astrological associations but doesn't stray far from the traditional Golden Dawn/Hermetic. This is a book to be studied for long hours. Not for the beginning Tarotist.

Finally, something new to say about tarot
Actually, this book isn't so much about tarot cards like so many other books are, this is about tarot reading - it describes very well a system of tarot dignities and influences I've been using for nearly two decades and I'm happy to finally see someone describe it in print.

it's a bit dry
But then so is the subject, I think. It's my first attempt to understand dignity in a tarot reading. Pretty cool. The book has a lot of information in it, and good charts to make the information clear. I like this book.

Absolutely excellent!
I am glad I found this book. After trying to find research on how to add more depth to my tarot readings, I stumbled upon this. So glad I did. It gives so many new facets to a reading, incorporating various dignities (not just the elemental I was previously used to) and astrology. There is so much you can read into the cards dealt. No card is ever read in isolation anyway, but this book is my bible for deeper interpretation. Each aspect is clearly explained and there are several spreads discussed to accommodate the content. This is not just another book explaining the meaning of a card or its position within a reading but rather the meaning of a card or cards, in relation to its position within the reading, its position with relation to other cards of similar elements, modes or numbers etc. There is so much in this, that every few weeks I pick it up and re-read sections and still find new ways of interpreting the cards. If you read tarot and do not use, numerical, modal or elemental dignities to their fullest extent, you have so much to learn and this book will be all you need.

Gives you a good understanding of the tarot
Bought this book after reading a few basic tarot books. Gives you a good understanding of the tarot. Wouldn't recommend for absolute beginners though, more of an advanced book. Well written to give you in depth knowledge.

Useful information that adds depth to readings
Found this very useful as it has immediately deepened my tarot readings. There is a lot of information to take in so I recommend taking it a section at a time. The book has lots of helpful examples to help you work through this information. This is the first time I've seen this depth of information about dignitaries in tarot in one place.Well worth the price I paid.
