I had a Windows-based mini computer sitting around the house that I wanted to use, but I couldn’t find the original power cord. I did some research, figured out the voltage it needed, and ordered a replacement from Walmart. Unfortunately, because the mini PC is a pretty obscure model, that adapter didn’t work. I had recently started seeing these adjustable DC adapters with multiple tips, so when I came across this one, I thought it would be perfect for situations like mine. I had never used anything like it before, and out of the box I was impressed with how versatile it was. With 14 different tips and an adjustable voltage range, there are a lot of possibilities for powering different electronics. I immediately tried it with my mini PC. It powered up at 12V, but once I started actually using the computer, it shut down. After checking what the computer required, I gradually adjusted the adapter and found that 13.2V kept it powered and running properly. The LCD display is especially useful because you can see exactly what voltage you have selected before connecting your device. I also like having the on/off position on the adjustment knob instead of having to unplug the adapter every time. Overall, this is a pretty cool and useful tool to have around, especially if you have older or less common electronics and can’t easily find the original power supply. Just make sure you know the correct voltage, amperage, and polarity requirements of your device before experimenting with the settings.

It does what you want and does it very well, but also gives you so much more for the money you pay. There are plenty of advantages over your standard Wall Wort type Power adapter, among which are: You get a digital display that shows the DC voltage output value, which is also what you use to set the desired output voltage level. The potentiometer is very smooth and not too tight, such that it's easy to achieve the actual voltage value you need. The output voltage is accurate to what is displayed on the display of the power adapter, and also it's easier to use than many of the standard AC/DC power adapters in that you have a long cord that gives you a nice tight plug to use to plug into the outlet verses several other Power Adapters on the market what contain the transformer within the plug that you plug into the outlet source. The vast and large selection of adapters that are included with the power adapter also mean that this is a multipurpose Power Adapter that you can use with several different devices requiring many different plugs. This means you only need one adapter rather than one for each device, or you have one adapter that works across several other devices. As long as you specify the correct amperage sufficient to operate all your different DC devices, you only have to make one purchase rather than many different ones.

Been using this for a little over a month for powering a blu ray drive. Works well. The connectors have a firm fit. The power supply can easily be adjusted from 3.3 to 24 volts, but the knob is a little tricky to get dialed in perfectly. It is very sensitive. The case is metal and the cords are thick making this unit very durable. There are no fans so it makes no noise. The only reason for 4 stars is because of the sensitive knob. Maybe have switches to select a power range? Comes with tons of different barrel plugs and adapters making it useful for any device. Even comes with a sheet to identify the size of every barrel plug. Also comes with a plug for reversing polarity.

Works great and very flexible because you can adjust the voltage for many applications. It also comes with a wide variety of tips that make it work with basically any device within its power output capabilities. I got this to power a Halloween prop, but I'm glad to know that I can adjust it and use if for many other things when it's not Halloween. The build quality is solid and it performs well all around.

Helped me diagnose a power supply issue with my modem after a power surge. Useful addition to my toolbox. I bought a replacement power supply, but have procrastinated swapping them, & it's been steady for 6 months

This is a compact variable DC power supply. It has a digital display of the output voltage which is accurate to 2 decimal places. The power supply comes with a variety of adapters to fit many DC input connectors. It also has an adapter for bare wires, which is what I am using. The nob to adjust the voltage is very sensitive, it doesn't take very much movement to change the voltage by a tenth or so, so dialing in the desired voltage requires care. Once set, the power supply seems to be very stable over a 50-degree temperature range. I am using the power supply in an unheated outdoor shed and temperature has gone down to the high teens so far this winter. I am very pleased with the quality of this device considering it's very reasonable price.

I see many five star reviews for this and similar - but they don't deserve it. The general weakness is that it is virtually impossible to select the actual number you need. You want 5 volts? Good luck. Settle for 5.05 or something else. I can see having set points and then variables inbetween, but not a complete variable range.

This unit is awesome, and so is the seller. I should have ordered this a long time ago. I would definitely buy this again.

I run a neuroscience electrophysiology lab and we have very stringent requirements for all our power supplies, because otherwise the line frequency introduces noise & hum in our patch-clamp recordings. So we sometimes have to replace low-quality power supplies that ship with e.g. light sources or similar cheap kit. This power supply is very low noise, not too expensive, easy to hook up because it comes with so many plug adapters, and the box also clamps down with a bracket, which can be handy. My only objection is that the voltage knob is quite sensitive, so you have to be a bit careful when you adjust the voltage. But we do that like once, and then we leave it, so it is no big deal for us.

These work well however From power on to power output there is a small delay. The variable voltage works really well and is very stable. I have three units for three different sections of strip lights. The output stays constant. The light doesn't flicker. The voltage output stays consistent between the units. My only complaint is that when you power them up there is a 2 to 3 second delay before the output activates. As a result I turn on the switch and 2 to 3 seconds later the lights turn on.
