After two other tries this safe fitted into the outer space exactly and inside space for a jewelry box with drawers. The measurements provided by the sellers of the previous safes didn’t take into account the opening available with the door open. One had huge door hinges so we couldn’t get the box passed the hinges. Another didn’t specify a drop in the floor of the safe so the bottom drawer couldn’t get open past the safe front perimeter. No problem if you don’t need these specifications. We also noticed that this safe was more compact yet had more interior space though was sturdily built. It claims it is fireproof for up to one hour in flames. Another genius feature was that it didn’t have a clumsy external backup battery system. One safe we tried caught fire testing the external battery. Instead this one has a USB port!! You only need the code to open it. Once you close the door and rotate the lock it’s locked: you don’t need to enter the code unless you want to open it again. Since I have to open the safe at least once daily this is an extremely convenient feature. All in all a very thoughtful engineer designed this model which suited our requirements exactly and may even be over the top for most users. 5 stars!!

Quality product. Easy to use. Be careful with the key.

I purchased this item in 2021. We secured it in our closet and it is working well. I like that it has a key option as well as using a code to open it. Recently, I had to change the batteries and lost the battery cover to allow me to use my code. I forgot how to uncover the key option and wrote to the company to see if they could help me. They replied immediately send me a video and I was able to unlock my safe. I thanked the company and advised them of my battery cover issue. They are sending me a new battery kit so that I can continue to use the code. I am amazed that after five years they are still providing me with excellent customer service. The charge for a new battery was minimal and I feel very fortunate to know that this company is here to resolve my issue after so five years of purchasing it. The safe is well made and strong. I use it for my travel documents and other personal items, plus I am comfortable knowing that my money is also protected.

If I'd ever secured a safe to a wall or floor previously, maybe this would not have been an issue, but I haven't, so I screwed up. The safe came with instructions on how to open it, program it, etc. but not a single word about how to go about mounting it, namely, that you absolutely need to measure the inside to figure out where the pre-drilled holes on the outside line up so that you can cut the carpet (felt, really) inside the safe before you drill it out, because the inside is not marked in any way and is not pre-drilled. Only the outside is pre-drilled. I read a bit online about what to do, so I did cut the inside first, but the material is felt on top of drywall (or plaster board), which is pretty hard to cut cleanly with a razor. I ended up either not cutting in exactly the right spot, or I just didn't get it cut completely through, so when I drilled from the outside, my drill bit caught the fabric and COMPLETELY ripped it off of the floor. Turns out, it was not glued down very securely to begin with, which is a shame because otherwise, it's a really nice safe. I like the look, it's easy to operate, and it feels secure. I'd already drilled the wall and floor, so I ended up keeping it and trying to re-glue down the felt to the floor myself (my artsy wife helped). It came out ok. Also, one of the shelf mounts was broken, but since I didn't really need 2 shelves, I just put the extra shelf on the floor to help cover up my mistake. If this came with more detailed instructions, or if it were pre-drilled or cut or marked in some way inside, I'd easily give this 5 stars, but since it ended up taking me at least 3 times longer than it should have to install and make it look nice again, I have to dock it one star. I love everything else about it though.

I was watching the news and saw a family prying open a safe after a forest fire destroyed their home. Once opened, you could plainly see the contents were ashes. If fire is your primary concern, you'll likely need a concrete lined safe costing much more and being much heavier, I know, I had one of those safes when I lived in the mountains. That said, I'd recommend putting important documents in a fireproof bag or box then putting them in the safe. That's what I did and it gives me peace of mind. Who knows how good the fire protection is until after a catastrophe hits. Sadly, the family that was able to pry open their safe did so fairly easily and the safe's construction look similar to this one. This is a good safe for keeping valuable items from walking away and may give some protection against disasters but just know, at this price point, it's not the safe deposit box at a bank. If that's what you're looking for, look for a safe that cost 4 or more times as much as safes in this category. I'm happy with my purchase, it arrived quickly, undamaged, and works well. My only complaint would be after entering my code it kept flashing the red error light when I tried to open it. Turned out to be my own fault and if the instructions had been a bit more clear, it might have saved me a bit of anguish but I'm perfectly happy with my purchase and would recommend this safe as it's large and secure.

One of the few 1.2 Cu Ft fire proof safes that fit a 16" depth. Most were 19" deep and this one was one of the only ones I could find. Good paint job. Very easy set up. Door swings within the dimensions so you don't need more clearance than the exterior dimension specified. Door lifts off hinges for easy attaching to wall or floor.

This is a very solid safe that I have had for three years. It is easy to use and easy to secure to a wall beam or floor. Customer support is clear and responsive. Alot of safe for the money

When I received this product it wouldn't power on at all. Upon further inspection I realized the springs in the battery well were hanging off with no tension. A 50 lb, 200 dollar piece of junk, sitting in my living room, rendered useless because of 4 tiny springs. Great product Purchase at your own risk, you may get a great safe or you may get an overly expensive and heavy piece of metal that you have to drag back to an amazon drop off.
