You can use any 2-wire copper cable, including Cat5/6 twisted pair, coaxial cable (with included adapter), or similar wiring. For best performance and maximum distance, twisted pair cables are recommended.

Will it always work at 800m (2600ft)?

Maximum distance depends on cable quality and type. As distance increases, available power and data speed decrease. For best results, use high-quality cables and shorter distances where possible.

Do I need power on both sides?

No. Only one unit requires a 48V DC power input. The remote unit receives both power and data over the same cable and does not need a local power source.

Can I use this with 24V passive PoE cameras?

This extender outputs standard PoE and does not directly support 24V passive PoE devices. To use 24V passive equipment, a separate 48V-to-24V PoE converter or adapter is required at the remote side.

Can I connect non-PoE devices like a regular PC? Is it safe?

Yes, it is safe to connect non-PoE devices. The PoE output follows standard PoE detection, which means power is only applied when a compatible PoE device is detected. If a non-PoE device (like a PC) is connected, only ethernet data is transmitted.
