I rewired my whole house with coax to each of my bedrooms and living room because I was sick and tired of looking at the mess that my cable company had left me with, when they wired my home. Since I was already getting my hands dirty, I decided to add cat6 cables to all the locations as well, and use a 1Gbit switch for the rooms as well. I purchased this 10-pack because I actually ended up using all 10 and not a single one had any problems. The trick to these is to make sure that you are wiring to the same configuration for all cables that you use. There's a T-568A and T-568B configuration (which you can google) and for my setup, I used the B configuration for the heads and for the connections to these. Make sure that you have the right tools if you plan to do this yourself. If you have a small wire stripper, it should have a small metal head that you can use to press down the ethernet cable's wires into their positions. You don't have to strip the small wires before pushing them into their sockets. All you have to do is press them into their correct position, and don't worry if the wires stick out the sides - it's actually easier that way. After they are in place, use a wire cutter to cut off the extra wires sticking out the sides and place the cover on. That's all. I used LEVITON 41642-W 2-Port QuickPort Decora Platform, White inserts that have cutouts in them for different keystones and these fit nice and snug. The colors also match. You just have to make sure to put them in in the correct orientation. There is a top and bottom to these and even if one way fits, it may cause problems for the piece next to it if it is put in the wrong way. Once it's in correctly, it works as expected.
