HDK Box 2.0 Smart Home Karaoke Machine Supports Recording and iPad/iPhone/Android Apps Control with 10 Free Songs, White

I love karaoke to the point where I decided that I wanted to purchase my own machine. So, I did the research and asked a couple of DJs and they said the HDK Box 2.0 would provide the best karaoke experience. After singing my favorite songs and hosting a few parties, I definitely agree that the HDK Box 2.0 is a great investment. It offers everything I’ve ever wanted in a karaoke machine and so much more. First, the library of songs is tremendous and despite many hours of signing away I have yet to go through a fraction of what is available. One real nifty feature is that I can control the HDK Box 2.0 from my iPhone thanks to the app that lets me pick the songs without having to approach the machine. Plus, I get new songs every week that are automatically uploaded to the Box. At my first Karaoke party, my friends were ecstatic over the number of new songs they could sing. Naturally, I’ve been able to record some of my favorite performances on the box itself which I can replay anytime I want. If you love karaoke like I do, then you need to get the HDK Box 2.0 because it has exceeded my expectations in terms of the number of songs, ease of use, and ability to record performances which have made my karaoke parties a huge hit with my friends.

This product is incomplete. Rarely anything works. 1. Interface looks like old iphone (iOS3) 2. Registration is lamb. I got charged $10 for no reason.introduction. 3. HDMI cable doesn't work. 4. iOS device pairing doesn't work. The device is not able to discover each other 5. lack of FAQ (tutorial only show the perfect scenario, of course it doesn't help) 6. It charge 99 cents per song, and it doesn't play after purchase. 7. The entire system crashed after 3 hours investigation. and never turn back on again. As a Chinese Karaoke lover, I had VERY low bar of satisfaction. If a product even failed on that, it means disappointment.

I have been trying to get familiar with this HDK Box 2.0 for the last 4 days. This HDK Box seems to be easy to manipulate after I got familiar with the controls using iPhone, iPad or Remote Control. However, the internal hardware drive got a "disk error" after the 2nd day which I could not save any song into the hard drive. Otherwise, all the other karaoke functions work great. I talked to the HDK technical support on line and decided to return and replace the unit through Amazon. I like Free and 1-day Shipping offered from Amazon. Hopefully, this is just one of a kind anomaly. There are some functions which can be improved for future software upgrade: (1) Hide the HDK WIFI network password from the TV display (2) Provide capability to display or search the Artist/Singer names in alphabetical order; current HDK only allows song title to be displayed or searched in alphabetical order (3) All songs vocal should be defaulted to be the same. I noticed that some songs Vocal defaulted to be ON while some songs Vocal defaulted to be OFF and some song Vocal have the ON/OFF reversed (4) Show WIFI signal strength on TV. It takes more than 30 seconds for the HDK to log into the WIFI network. I am not sure if it is because of the signal strength or the HDS itself. All the other WIFI equipment in the vicinity do not have the same issue. I may change the rating after I receive the replacement. 4/8/2017 update I received the replacement within 24 hours after I submitted the exchange request. My wife did enjoy using this HDK Box after she got familiar with all the features. The Chinese symbol input in addition to English to search for song or singer is a plus.

I wanted a Karaoke machine I could just hook up to my TV and go. Not a big box with lights and speakers, etc. The reviews on this unit were pretty spot on...and seemed to fit the bill. This is a slick unit. Yes, it does require an online subscription to their streaming music database ($10 a month), but the song selection is pretty good/current. I'm sure there are deeper cuts that aren't on there, and I have yet to experiment with the USB port to add a thumb drive with karaoke songs that aren't in their service database. But, overall, the English selection is pretty good. We had ordered a 3 pack of Behringer mics and some XLR to stereo headphone plug cables, but we couldn't hear ourselves sing. We called customer service (on December 26) and they knew right away the issue, the cables had to have mono TRS 1/4 inch (not stereo). Quick visit to our local music shop, new cables, problem solved. We had a great time, singing christmas songs with the kids, a little Neil Diamond, Journey, and Taylor Swift. Secretly, I think it will help the kids with reading, as well. While I wish they would play the vintage music videos, that's a small nitpick, this device is a lot of fun, and much cheaper than the piano based alternatives.

The users voice sung into the mic while reading the screen words is delayed by a full second making it very unusable. I contacted customer support and was given suggestions on possible resolutions, however there suggestions yielded no improvement. They said they would have their technical support team contact me however I received no call. I followed back up again with customer support and they said the same thing to me again and I received no return call again. I will gladly update and adjust my one star rating if and when I receive a call from the technical support team with a resolution. I have seen my same concern from others that have purchased and rated this product. If I receive no call in the next week(making it a month) I will return this purchase, as it is unusable the way its is now.

After trying it out for a week, I had to send it back. About half the songs which I assume have not had the "hi-def" digital conversion keep pausing during playback, making singing impossible. Other songs which have been converted to high def digital perform fine.Unfortunately, there aren't a great selections of songs that we like to sing. The android app is barely functional but did not meet my expectations. I tried to use my CDG disks but the conversion process to get it work on this thing is way too cumbersome, I have to convert to mp3+g, then zip it, then all songs must be on the same exact folder, making searches for a song during parties a nightmare, also USB must be on a FAT32 USB drive. Way to much work to make it acceptable to my needs. Unable to use it for my needs. Maybe in a year the company can work out these bugs and have a better song selection and then I'll try it again.

Great product, and fantastic customer service. I had questions about how to best set this up with my home theater. Customer service gave me step by step instructions to do this, and also showed me the online videos. I highly suggest you check out their instructional videos to make sure you get the best experience. I love the iOS app. Much easier to search for songs and set up playlists/queues on the app versus trying to do it with a TV remote. Also a big fan of the internet based library. I like paying a monthly fee to access their growing library,instead of paying $100 a pop for a 200 song chip.....which only has 10 songs you like. My setup : HDMI from HDK 2.0 to my TV for video only (no sound on the TV), and red/white RCA analog cables from HDK 2.0 to my stereo receiver for sound only. Works great.

I am very disappointed in this system. I really wanted it to work and gave it plenty of time. The unit constantly loses connection and has to be "paired". The songs stop playing after a few seconds while they buffer which makes it impossible to sign an entire song properly. They charge you $9.99 a month subscribe to online songs, but the selection rarely changes and they don;t have many of the very popular songs you would expect. Don't buy this unit!
