Pennington One Step Complete Dense Shade 5 lb

I have used both Scotts and Pennington and will always reach for the Pennington brand over Scotts. I've noticed that grass seeds tend to have a shelf life and I have to say that every time I have bought a Scotts product I have been disappointed. I use the seeds to fill in bare spots from my Husky and I have found that Pennington sprouts every time. Scotts not so much, and Scotts os more expensive. The wood based carrier for the Pennington spot repair is genius and way better than the soil Scotts provides. Again, with Husky urine the wood neutralizes it while the Scotts product just doesn't grow. I used to be a fan of Scotts but for Grass seed There are way better options. Pennington being one of them.

This stuff actually works pretty good after some time, we have quite a few bare spots in our property that gets very little sun due to some buildings/trees. Sofar this stuff is the only stuff we've been able to actually get growing in these spots! It just takes a bit of time for the new growth to pop in, it took about 3 weeks to a month for us to get it sprouting in but the best part is that its actually growing unlike other seeds we've tried over the years. All in all Good product.

What a disappointment. Here I read the description and a few of the reviews and thought, "Boy. This looks like a good deal." Well let me tell you, I'll bet there was not one whole ounce of actual grass seeds in the whole 5 pound bag. It's basically a bag full of little clumps of sawdust with a few seeds scattered into it. And if you read the directions, it says to spread it at the rate of ONE CUP PER SQUARE FOOT!! One cup for each square foot of area you plan to seed. I'll tell you now, there is no way there is 75 cups of this stuff in a 5 pound bag. I have never felt so ripped off in my life! I can tell you now, I'll never buy seed from Penningon again. I should have just mailed my money to them for nothing.

It sprouted promptly and well and I would be very pleased with the value and performance but it won’t grow. I think it is too hot for it right now in the Deep South even watered and fully shaded.

Easy to plant.

I bought three bags of Scotts (19.99) in a month and used it, result 0%, I tried this product, just one bag and with in 4-5 days, it turned out to be amazing, I can already see grass growing… just water day and night for few minutes… It’s a wonderful product, I would recommend for everyone.. This product grows a lot of grass. It is really cheap and easy to apply, the product is a price great grass growing product, I highly recommend it.
