How many quarts is this?

If the interior (not including the lid) were 9 inches wide by 3 inches tall, it would be 3.2 quarts. I would be comfortable saying it is 3 quarts maybe a bit more. I have a 5 pound chicken in the freezer. It is 9 inches long by 4 1/2 inches at the thinnest point. I suspect it would fit- barely. The lid may not sit down completely, though. That should give you decent idea of how big it is.

please explain how 9.8 x 5.8 x 3.2 inches is round?

by measuring my pan, the 9.8 refers to across the pan. 3.2 is how deep the pan is that holds the liquid. 5.8 appears to be from base of pan to top of lid handle with the lid setting on top of the pan. Yes it is round! just confusing. I am going to use mine in my solar cooker. Note- there are no side handles. Good luck, hope this makes sense!
