Great product and works as intended. Instructions for Astro A50, Xbox One, HD60 Pro, Windows included in my review.
This product works as advertised and is well made from my experience with it so far. I use Astro A50s for my Xbox One in combination with my Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro. The instructions the Elgato website provides for getting this to work with most headsets is good and will probably work for most users but I think people with A50s may be confused as to how they can properly use this so I'm going to include some information and instructions below to help out. ==================== Who are these instructions for: If you want to be able to use your Astro A50s with the game capture software to record game video, game audio, chat audio, AND your own commentary on your Windows computer. Read this to know what you need (you don't need too much): To get this functional, you must be able to plug in your Astro A50 headset into the audio port of the controller (or the stereo headset adapter). So if you have the Astro Xbox One adapter (which plugs into the accessory port and not the audio port) you will need to get a cable to be able to do this. I don't know if there exists a 2.5 to 3.5 cable which can do all of this at once, but if you have a 2.5 to 2.5 cable (like me), you can get a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter to get this to work. If you have/bought the stereo headset adapter, it should already come with a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter (although the quality of the cable wasn't so good from my experience). Read this to see if you have things set up correctly before proceeding: If you have Astro A50s then you should already be aware that your headset has the mixamp built in. So if you have everything working correctly with your headset then you should have your controller audio output set to maximum voice with no game audio (since the headset already receives game audio from the wireless transmitter/console). If you're using a controller with an audio port you can verify this in the chat settings in the sidebar by double tapping the Xbox Guide Button and scrolling all the way down or if you're using the stereo headset adapter you simply keep tapping on the person icon until you hear beeps. Read this to understand the problem and the fix: TLDR Version -> There are two available audio inputs in the software, but we want to use 3. So we merge 2 of them into 1. In simple terms, the game capture software can use one video input and up to two audio inputs. Your primary video and audio input are coming from your console, so game video and game sound. You can add another audio input by using the live commentary feature which is in the right sidebar of the capture software. The problem comes from the fact that this cable will take the audio output of the controller (or stereo headset adapter) which we have set to only output voice chat. So if you follow the normal directions you will only get the voice chat from the cable. [At this point you may be asking why we don't change the audio balance for the controller audio output and just use that as the source for game audio in our headset instead of the transmitter/console. I tried this already and the audio sounds bad, you'll notice a distinct degradation of audio quality in your headset if you try this like I did.] So in total we really have 3 tracks of audio we want to use but there are only two available inputs in the software. We'll fix this by leaving the game audio as the primary audio input and combine our voice chat and microphone (that you use for commentary) into a single audio input that we can use for the live commentary. Follow these instructions to fix: 1. Download and install the VB-CABLE Virtual Audio Device (http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Cable/). This is free and works. 2. Go to your list of recording devices on your PC and right click on the line-in input (that gets the voice chat) and open the properties. Do the same for your microphone. 3. For both of the devices, click the listen tab and check the "Listen to this device" checkbox on and select "CABLE Input (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)" from the dropdown list. Click OK. 4. In your game capture software, choose "CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)" as the source for your live commentary. Notes: You'll have to play with the volume levels and such to get the right balance that you want. Also, you will probably want to turn off mic monitoring so you don't hear an echo of yourself. ==================== Hopefully at least one person found these instructions helpful.

Works pretty well, does what it says, except on Nintendo Switch.
This allowed me to stream with game chat audio in games like COD: Warzone and Apex Legends on Twitch (on XBOX) and essentially lets your stream hear exactly what you hear in your headphones. You'll have to use the Elgato Game Capture app and change the audio input to HDMI line-in. On Streamlabs OBS I had to apply the Gain effect to Elgato to boost the volume enough for it to be heard but it works. I tried using it on the Nintendo Switch, which has a couple voice chat games (Warframe, Fortnite, Spellbreak) but it creates a buzzing static noise, so that's basically a no-go.

Gets the job done if you need voice chat
The link is fairly easy to use and set up. I have had 2 cables so far because the first one started making static noises and having trouble connecting to my ps4 controller which rendered it useless unless held in a specific position. This happens to aux cables after being plugged in many times though so it is expected and can happen to any headset / device. It lasted me 9 months with daily use. - I use this for streaming so I can capture my ps4 audio. The problem is while using this you can not hear your desktop audio or any notifications. There are ways to get around this if you are not using a vc, but if you are using vc then you need this for ps4 users. If you are just trying to get your ps4 audio though there are ways to get around using the link and you will be able to hear your ps4 audio as well as notifications. You need to change your slobs / obs settings to channel your ps4 audio to your monitor or desktop audio using your elgato settings. Experiment with it, it is way less stressful to hear your ps4 audio and notifications at the same time. But yeah if you're chatting with friends then you need this. I only use mine for the rare time I vc while live now, so I expect it will last a lot longer than my first one. Good luck!

2 days outside of return window. I'm malding...
Let me start off by saying that, when it worked, it worked really nicely. I thought it was going to be as annoying as having to go back to a wired headset (crappy Destiny 2 Man-O-War Tourneys, instead of my nicer, better, cheaper Afterglow AG9+). But honestly, even having the Y-split in the cable didn't manage to feel like having multiple cables getting in the way. So that's a pro in my opinion and something commendable, because lap cables are extremely annoying. The audio is also nice through the cable to those in the PS4 party (my chatter to the stream is captured by a Razer Seiren X that's plugged into my Mac). But now, somewhere in the cable is a fault to where no audio is being sent to the HD60S+ card, even though I can still plug the Man-O-Wars in and talk to friends in party. The best part? I just checked when I bought the cable to see if I could return it. If I would have streamed a few days ago I could have possibly caught this issue and sent it back under warranty. However now, at the time of writing this, I am 2 days past warranty (purchased Sep. 22,2020). So now I'm SOL. And also I have to buy another cable and hope it lasts more than a month. I knew it had a chance to crap out with a ridiculously low lifespan for a cable. However, I was unaware that this would possibly be a monthly subscription to Elgato for a new cable each time. Time will tell on the second cable I will be purchasing after writing this. And you can rest assured I will write a follow-up on it when it dies to show the time frame of that cable as well. The quality really needs to be stepped up because this is something you can clearly see has been an issue for years in these reviews. And Playstation needs to fix their crap and make it to where USB headsets can be used and captured in capture card devices, as well as a way to have audio run fully to headsets and to the card. Because this is ridiculous. As of right now, my stream setup is a Razer Kiyo webcam, Razer Seiren X microphone, Elgato Streamdeck, Thrustmaster T150 Pro steering wheel, PS4, and an Elgato HD60S+ (which, if you plan on streaming on Mac, you need to get this one. It's by far the easiest for it since it has native support for Macs). In total, with USB splitters included to get everything wired up, that is a whopping THIRTY ONE (31) cables needed. My desk lookin like-a buffet of spaghett. I'm only buying this out of a literal need for the stream to work properly. And it's bunk that I have to do so.

This is what you need to capture your Xbox chat audio for streaming!
If you stream your gameplay on the Xbox, and have been wondering how to capture your voice communications from the party without having to stream DIRECTLY from the Xbox - this is your answer. It allows you to capture all the audio from your party chat as you hear it, and also DOES NOT transmit your voice - allowing you to utilize a professional mic to capture your voice on stream while still talking to your party (and not causing a double mic situation from your talking.) Just plug this into your Xbox controller or chat mixer adapter that goes in the controller, set your sound, and that is what the stream will hear also. The Con: You will hear your game sounds through it also if you have game sounds coming through your headset too. Make sure you either only have party chat voices mixed, or don't stream your sound on the capture card that the Xbox is on. Otherwise - this is the best and easiest solution you have to capture your party comms!

Mind blowing quality(both build and sound quality) but too overpriced.
First of all this thing is too much overpriced(it cost me around 2400/-), but it's quality is mind blowing. You can spend only 1000 to get make something (with an audio copier + an aux cable + an audio splitter) which serves the same purpose as this item. But you will not have the build quality this material have. You will feel just after touching it for the first time,

Ottimo cavo
