Backpack
Keeps the backpack straps from sliding off my shoulders. Works great.

Buckles don't hold straps after some movement.
Buckles wouldn't hold straps securely. Straps would be tight, then loosen up. Constantly checking straps, tightening when necessary. One side of the straps would fall off. Then the other side would fall off. Then straps would be tight for a day or two, then loosen and fall off. If you have this product. I suggest securing the straps with stitching or glue.

Unfinished edges, but does the job
The edges of the strap are unfinished, so you will have to either sew them to prevent them from unraveling, or use a lighter to melt the edges. Other than that the quality is pretty good - the clasp can be a little sticky at times, it's not perfect, but it works. The nylon is sturdy enough to perform as a sternum strap but you will notice that it's not quite thick enough, the material slides very easily, and if you tighten your strap at the beginning of the hike, by the end of it, it will have slid back to its original untightened position. Serious backpackers, don't bother with this one.

Chest Strap
I bought a shoulder holster for my 9 mm pistol, but after wearing it for a day out in the woods I noticed that I was spending a lot of time pulling it back onto my shoulders. I needed a chest strap to hold it in and this was just the ticket. It is very adjustable to get the right fit, assembled to the holster without and fancy directions, and the strap will fit nearly any width shoulder strap.

Do you know how to sew?
You know how literally every buckle you've ever used, ever, has had one side of the strap sewn? And the adjuster will be doubled back over itself as a catch? There's no reason for that. This is literally just a couple buckles and some blank strap. The strap is so slick, and the buckles do not grab, at all, that I couldn't get them to stay on the backpack shoulder straps. I even tried the routing they came with (I only undid one), and all you have to do is pull and it undoes itself by the way it is looped through the buckle.I'll admit, I'm not a wizard with knots. Would have made a terrible boy scout. But I've owned a TON of backpacks and undone/redone more straps than I could count, and this thing... sucks. Even if you can get a routing right that binds it against itself, the strap is so slick it just doesn't have enough friction to hold. You're either sewing this thing together, or throwing it in the trash in frustration. Also, the buckled themselves are pretty much a get what you paid for sort of deal. This was for a toddler's backpack, so I thought it would be fine, but I'm pretty sure she'd still break them.

Just what I needed
Yes it worked great. My backpack blower is very heavy and I have to wear it for a long time and this strap helped me distribute the weight better and keep tighter
