I used them..mirror weighs about 14 pounds..like bowling ball weight.

What is the size of the long threaded bolt and how many threads per inch is it? my bolt is 1/4 bolt with 20 threads per inc

Do these knobs come off the screws because the screws are to short?

The question is a little unclear, but I guess it just depends on the size of the mirror frame + spindle support thickness. Before I ordered them, I measured the width I needed and these were perfect. I had no issues with them at all. They fit well and are holding the mirror together just fine.
