The Biology Book: Big Ideas Simply Explained

Excellent book, I have been leafing through it and have found it fascinating. Not only does it go through the fundamentals of the subject, it explains the history, discovery and the mechanisms involved within each area of study. I purchased this for my son, who is a bit of a budding physics boffin, and thought it would broaden his knowledge base. However, I should add he's only 8, and this book covers how the reproductive process came to be scientifically understood and I've decided to put the book onto the top shelf for a couple years. Silly me Doh! Of course, it's a biology book! Age range, maybe 11 up and probable useful for GCSE levels or interested adults, as it is a really good, well illustrated reference book too. I

Good book that complements alevels . On of the sides came off but I just used some superglue and you can't even tell now .

This would be a great book for advanced primary school children and children going to secondary school. Lots of great information and diagrams. Also useful for primary school teachers to stay a step ahead of the science you have to teach.

This is a clearly written and beautifully illustrated book on the fascinating subject of biology. After a brief but illuminating introduction there are nine engrossing chapters titled: 'Life'; 'Food And Energy'; 'Transport And Regulation'; 'Brain And Behaviour'; 'Health And Disease'; 'Growth And Reproduction'; 'Inheritance'; 'Diversity Of Life And Evolution' & 'Ecology'. The book concludes with a Directory of pioneering biologists and a useful glossary of terms used in biology. 'The Biology Book' is an accessible and inspiring book which deserves to be read by anyone wishing to gain an understanding of this important subject.

It very well packed and was delivered timely. Is hardcover and it has tons of information and details.

No Nonsense Biology. Excellent book for the college student needing to brush up on their knowledge of Biology. Loved the book!!!

Interesting book of facts. However I returned it as it wasn’t useful for a homeschooler
