I can't find them in stores anymore so I'm purchasing them online. I probably should find a new favorite shoe as these will some day be out of style. But these fit me perfectly and I can wear them all day. These work for me walking, jogging, hiking, standing, working and just about what ever else I can throw at them. With the color - they always look "clean". I've used them in the mud when offroading in my Jeep and they offer good traction (they offer no protection for keeping feet dry however). The construction of the Birkie is very durable - I use one pair as my "nice" shoe and get about a year or so out of them. I them downgrade them to my outside/Jeep shoes that I wear when working on the yard or something of that nature. I can get about 3 years of use out of them before I have to toss them. I have only had one pair out of five fail after a couple years of hard use. Usually they get so filthy and muddy and that is when I dispose of them. As a senior citizen (and for many years now) I have found it rather challenging to find a pair of shoes that my feet approve of. My first pair of these Columbia Mens Birkie Trail worked GREAT, so I have stuck with this particular make and model.Personally I have found the quality and durability is just fine. I hope your experience with this shoe will be as good as mine. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome shoe *by R***H on Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2015* I bought these to replace the earlier Columbia version of these I bought 15 years ago. I used the old pair with a set of Dirty Girl Gators to hike around the Rockies for two weeks with a 65 pound pack - that is relevant because the bottom soles did not flatten with the weight. Before that hike I replaced the insoles with a $20 set I got from Amazon or Sierra Trading Post. I was the only one who did not get blisters (also used merino wool and wicking socks). I put those soles in the new pair, and wow, I don't even notice my plantar fasciitis. I actually wear these from early morning to late at night because of that. Awesome shoe. Rugged but stylish enough I can get away wearing these at the office.
