The Dalla Piazza Foil Cutter is a simple tool to remove the foil crown from a wine bottle. Indispensable for the wine lover- cuts evenly and cleanly. Zinc die cast covered with triple-plated chrome with hardened steel blades. European design, dishwasher safe. Review: All wine drinkers should get one! - This device works great, its simple to use, and makes the whole process of cutting the foil, neat and easy. Review: The cutters are so so. - This foil cutter is very handsome and weighty, no doubt. But when I tried cutting with it, it just tore the foil. Upon further inspection, I noticed the two rotating cutters were not rotating like they should have. The machine work on the inside was not finished smooth. I had to take it apart and manually sand those areas until they rotated like they should. I don't know if mine missed inspection but it works great now that the rotating cutters are free.

Certainly Cuts the Mustard (and the foil)
Thomas McDonald's glowing review convinced me to buy this one and I'm very glad that I did. I even added a magnet as he suggested. The cutter is very well made, more than reasonably priced and is a pleasure to use and a minor joy to behold. Not only does it behave better than cheap (or expensive) plastic ones, it looks a great deal better too. Highly recommended.

Forget the Glowing Reviews
I've been drinking wine for 45 years. After my Screwpull cutter recently bit the dust, I decided to try this cutter, even though the Screwpull was perfectly fine. This cutter looked sleek and well made. It was like a teenage kid falling for a beautiful car that doesn't run. It's horrible. Forget the glowing reviews. It give you a lousy cut. As one other reviewer noted, it is a problem on larger or non-standard bottle tops (even 750 ml. bottles). If you buy this product, and are dissatisfied, at least I can say I told you so. That having been said, it will look beautiful on your dinner table. So, if you're looking to impress some shallow guests, my advice would be to leave it there, and cut the foil in your kitchen with a Screwpull cutter.

good design, bad assembly
Our came with one of the blades not bolted on correctly. It still works but it is very annoying. Overall I like it a lot but I wish it was built better. If you do not mind possibly having to repair it and make it work right, it is a great design. As a product stinks though, they should check their assembly quality before shipping!

Practically Perfect
This handsome little device works like a dream and is far superior to cheaper plastic grip versions. One small caveat: the arms do not extend quite far enough get around the larger necks on 1.5 liter bottles.

Work and looks great
I got this to replace the now broken foil cutter that came with my Screwpull. This looks and feels much nicer than the Screwpull cutter. The weight is nice and it does not feel as flimsy. It has two rolling cutters and two stationary; the Screwpull has four rolling. This also opens wider than the Screwpull. All in all it is a very superior product and I am happy to have purchased it.

Broken within a month
I've looked at the other reviews and they're pretty much positive. My experience was different. Pros: *good price point makes this affordable. Cons: *I didn't find the cutting quality better than even cheaper alternatives. *Product quality was poor. Cutter blade broke after a month. Can't recommend this.
