Powerful, Precise, and Incredible Value – A 5-Star Miter Saw
I’ve been extremely impressed with the SKIL 10" Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw (MS6305-00). Right out of the box, it delivers solid build quality, smooth operation, and the kind of accuracy you’d expect from a much more expensive saw. The dual bevel feature is a huge time-saver—being able to tilt both left and right without flipping the workpiece makes complex cuts faster and more precise. The sliding action is smooth and gives plenty of crosscut capacity for larger boards, which is perfect for trim work, shelving, and framing projects. Accuracy is a standout here. The cuts are clean and consistent, the detents lock in firmly, and the fence alignment was spot-on with minimal adjustment. The LED shadow line is especially useful—it gives a clear, accurate cut line without needing constant recalibration like a laser. Power-wise, this saw doesn’t struggle. It cuts confidently through hardwoods and pressure-treated lumber, and the motor feels strong without excessive vibration. Dust collection is decent for the class, especially when hooked up to a shop vac. Overall, this saw hits the sweet spot between performance, features, and price. Whether you’re a serious DIYer, weekend woodworker, or someone tackling home renovation projects, the SKIL MS6305-00 delivers reliability and precision without breaking the bank. I’d absolutely buy it again.

A combination of good value and excellent quality
I purchased the SKIL 10" Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw MS6305-00 for a long running project of replacing my homes wood exterior trim with cellular PVC board. Mid price range for this type of product, it has more features than products at the high end of miter saws and vastly higher quality than the low end. Fit and finish is good in all areas. Operation is smooth in stage and fence movement. as well as blade movement when cutting. At 40 lbs it has enough heft to cut with precision, but light enough to mount on a stand and roll it around on the job. Mounted on a stand with rollers supporting material being sawn, even long runs are easy to manage working alone. The dual bevel feature means no swapping material end for end to get opposite angle bevel cuts.

Excellent quality for a budget saw.
For the price, fantastic saw. Imagine, cutting a 45 and it's a 45! A 90 is like a 90. A 35 looks just like a 35! No slop, gauges were spot on. I'm completely happy Look, for the price, it's pretty legit. I don't know if I'd ever need a $700 saw, but if I used it as a contractor, maybe I'd need it. But, for a couple hundred bucks, you can't go wrong.

Exceeded My Expectations
This saw exceeded my expectations. The straight, bevel, and miter cuts were dead on right out of the box. The shadow cutting line is easy to see and improves accuracy...feature is found on upscale saws. I also like the clamping feature. I bought this as a back up saw, while my Dewalt is being repaired but I think my Dewalt will become my backup. The utube videos about this saw are spot on. My money was well spent.

I think it will be good once I can change the blade!
Received my saw Feb 12, 2026. Well packaged. Easy to put the (few) bits on it that came separate. Good directions in the manual. Seems to be well made. I think I will really like this saw. Haven't even plugged it in yet because of 2 issues: 1st I couldn't get the Head Assembly Lock Pin to release, even following manual's instruction. Note to buyers - be sure your saw is bolted or clamped securely before you do this. Mine wasn't and that allowed just enough flex in the system to not let the pin release. Once I clamped everything down, the pin worked as it should! 2nd I want to change the mfg supplied 40 tooth blade for a 90 tooth one. BUT the blade arbor nut was so over-torqued at the factory that it will not budge! I have tried everything in the manual, plus WD-40 overnight, and heating with a blow dryer for 10 minutes and still nothing. Now I am getting a little weaker in my old age, so I had _2_ big, strong, guys try it as well. And still nothing. All Skil support could tell me was to return it for another saw. They had no magic wand for this. So I've ordered a new arbor nut because I am surely about to destroy this one! UPDATE: I took the saw to my local hardware store (they repair tools!) and even they had trouble with it! The finally got that blasted nut loose with a T-Handle, long shaft, allen wrench. Guy even apologized 'cause he thought I was an idjit when I brought it in <-g->. Love this saw now. And angles were right on the money straight out of the box, no adjustments needed. So I increased my rating from 3 to 4. Would have given a 5 except for that blade arbor nut problem. Oh, and the 90 tooth blade cuts so very smooth I didn't even need to sand that end!

Quality
This saw is excellent for the price. It cuts perfectly the way it is no settings to adjust. Everything is squared out outstanding for skill saw.

Don't miss out on this hidden gem. Amazing saw
This miter saw is amazing!!! I just replaced an old, very old 10" chop saw. The features for the money are incredible. I love the shadow line. That is so much more accurate than a laser and easier to see. It's the exact spot where the blade is going to drop down!!! It is really improved my productivity. The hold-down clamp is something you will not find on a saw at this price!!! Just drop it down onto the wood, and then clamp it. It's a quick and easy and an extremely secure safety measure. I used it today when I had a kickback situation arising. I was able to stop the process and used the clamp to complete the cut, safely. I'm building a cabinet for this saw and my new Skil table saw. It's not complete yet but I had to stop working on it because I had orders coming in LOL. So I set up these saws temporarily even though the cabinet is not complete. The 10" size is perfect (for me) because it is a slider and you can still cut 12 in stock. This handles a 4x4 with ease. The base is very stable and also includes a stability support near the adjustment handle. The hold down clamp storage fits in the slot on either side of the saw. They kept selling out of this saw during Christmas and it took a few weeks to get it. Absolutely worth the wait!!!

Excellent saw for DiYs & contractors as well.
Excellent machine! You don’t want to spend more than $500, when you can spend a fraction of this doing the same job. Built entire 12 by 8’ shed and renovate my deck with this. My favorite part of this saw is the line shade it gives during the cut which other saw do not have that feature.

Excelentes cortes

Great saw, Great price.
Very pleased with the saw, cuts straight and square. Needed no adjustments out of the box, but wise to check to make sure everything is square. Has sufficient adjustments to ensure squareness. Appears to be solidly built, and of very reasonable quality for a prosumer saw. Out of the box everything moved smoothly, and precisely. The saw blade recess is fairly wide, so would recommend getting some saw miter kerf tape, but this is common with most miter saws. Did not use the blade that came with the saw, replacing it with a higher tooth count crosscut blade, but the blade did not appear to be that bad. The clamp is excellent, holds fast, and easy to lock. The shadow line is excellent, although it is either on or off full time not engaged when pressing the trigger. Not a big deal since it is powered by supply voltage. The handle on top for carrying is nice, as is the multi-handed operational handle. Overall feels sturdy and should last. Dust collection kind of sucks, but that seems to be common to most miter saws. The cut depth adjustment stop seems kind of cheap (essentially a bolt that limits cut depth), but it does work so no big deal. Lastly the blade takes a while to stop, seems there is no blade brake, but the guard deploys quickly so again not a show stopper. Overall seems to be a very good saw, for a very good price.

Awesome saw for the money.
For the money, it’s hard to beat. One thing led to another and my wife decided we needed to replace the carpet in our basement with Laminate flooring. My old Craftsman chop saw just couldn’t cut the boards. So after doing the Rona and Home Depot visits, I ordered this saw. Nothing comes close for the price. It was prefect out of the box. The LED blade shadow, or whatever they call it works really well. Well worth the money!!
