Happy Feet!
I needed some costume boots ASAP for a play. My old ones (from the 90's when Period boots were in style) are a bit tight, and my feet were killing me at the end of rehearsal. After a grueling dress rehearsal the week-end before we opened, I looked on Amazon hoping I could find something appropriate, with real leather/suede, that wouldn't cost me a fortune and would get here before the show opened. They were only a day late (expected for Alaska), and BOY were my feet happy!!I ordered a 1/2 size larger to make sure they would fit after chronic swelling occurred, and because of other reviews. I have "duck feet" so it's really hard for me to find anything that fits. I lucked out with these booties. The ankle chinches up almost tight to my skinny ankles, and the toe is plenty wide with thin tights. With thick socks, it's a cozy fit. As an extra bonus, the arch is really comfortable. My arches are usually floating in mid air, and these gave me good support. There's just enough rubber on the front sole to be comfortable, but still look like period boots on stage. I danced a "marathon" waltz at the end of the play with NO DISCOMFORT AT ALL!!The suede is nice and thick and the scalloped detail on the boot is classy/classic. With the heavy suede construction, I was totally comfortable wearing my new boots to help tear down the sets. The holes the ties go through are tight, so it takes a little effort to get the boots off. But, after loosening just the top stitch, it splits open and slides off quite easily. If you have thicker ankles, it probably won't be as much an issue. The only down-side was the plastic-lined tongue, but it was okay. It's really hard to find shoes that aren't plastic lined anymore, even at high-end department stores, and my toes break out in hives in plastic. The plastic tongue created a little extra heat, but otherwise didn't bother my feet at all, since the toe was not lined.I could not be happier with my purchase and might have to get a brown pair.

Heel is Poorly Made
These shoe are, OK. They are stylish and comfortable considering the style and heel (they are no tennis shoe) If you rotate your collection of shoes often these are great... I don't; when I buy a pair of shoes I intend to wear them everyday. They appear to have a sturdy stacked wood, its not. Its an adhesive sticker. After only 4 days of wear (I walk to work and am on my feet all day) that adhesive started to peel away revealing a cheap looking white plastic inner. After a couple months the peeling has gotten worse and now the rubber part on the very is worn down and uneven. I think I'm pretty light on my feet (size 6 1/2, 110 lbs) so I'm not clunking around clumsily. The rest of the shoe looks great. Good as new even so the quality of the upper is great. Hopefully my local shoe repair can fix it. But for the price, it sucks to have to take them in for a repair so early in the game.Size wise, I see a lot of posts saying they run small and narrow. I have bunions and they didn't squeeze so I think they are true to size but with a thin sock. If you are thinking of putting a winter sock in there I would go up a 1/2. They look great with skinny jeans, awesome with a cropped pant but a little witchy with skirts. They conform to the foot and have no rubbing in the ankle. So again, if you either rotate your collection or you don't have a job or lifestyle that involves walking or standing for long periods, then these shoe are awesome. Not because of comfort, but because they wear out easy. If you do, this is popular style nowadays... I'd go for different brand. I just ordered a pair of Clarks Heath Wren. Higher heel but we'll see how they hold up.Oh, one more thing. The color is not what I expected but it grew on me. Its not a rich dark burgundy like I expected, it is like a washed out pinot nior kind of color. Hard to match so the color becomes the statement of your outfit.

They are beautiful!
I LUV these! I did size up. Normally wear a 7.5 in most shoes/boots with any kind of heel, sometimes an 8 in flat shoes/boots. Read others reviews and went larger, glad I did. I have narrow feet with really long toes, so others might be happy with their normal size. When I took them out of the box I thought they looked big, but when I put them on and looked in mirror, and they did not look big on my feet. Yay! They do not seem narrow to me at all, but again, everyone's feet and perception is different. I Have not worn them out of the house yet, but I think they will be comfortable. I love Victorian and granny style boots, and these have that vibe. I got the Brownstone, actually the only color available in my size (which is the color I would have chosen anyway). It is kind of a burgendy color and it is so pretty. (I do not think a good basic color HAS to be just black, brown, gray, or tan. Burgendy and navy colors are good basics too.) Anyhow, I am waaaaaaay pleased as I like everything about them, including the price and fast delivery. To those who mentioned theirs looked scuffed, mine had one circle dot of lighter color on the right shoe. I rubbed that area against the other shoe and the spot disappeared.

Just what I wanted.
I've had these for over a year now, and they're still my favorite. The perfect black bootie, in my opinion. Stylish, versatile, and very easy to walk in. No wobbling or awkward gait here, they're very solid without looking chunky. As a college student, I do a lot of walking and really have no need to wear a heeled shoe to class, so I've rarely worn these for an entire day. The insole is not well-cushioned, so my feet do get fatigued in these after a few hours of standing or walking. An insert could solve this issue. The suede is thick and of good quality, and the overall construction strong. I'm pretty hard on my shoes (I'm not a careful or graceful walker, often ending up with scratches and dirt on my shoes) and these are none the worse for wear. Because of the thickness of the leather, scratches and scuffs don't really damage the overall appearance of the shoe.

LOVE them!
LOVE these booties! It's always risky buying shoes online but these were a perfect fit! After reading reviews of them being narrow I was really concerned as my feet aren't at all narrow. However not only was the fit perfect, but so is the heel height and cushioning in the arch support tops it off. Now the most comfortable shoes I own - and I have fussy feet!
