Better than OEM! Super solid and fixed my door 100%. 2002 Sienna.
This should be your first place to fix the issue of the cable seeming to stretch out, even if the old handle is not snapped broken. Worn down OEM handles will fail to open the door even if not fully snapped apart inside. The plastic in the OEM and other aftermarket handles flexes too much and makes it hard to get a full pull on the release cable. Eventually the plastic wears out so much the door will refuse to open because there isn't enough cable being pulled. The issue is actually NOT that cable stretching, and just a matter of worn out handle parts. Mine fit in just fine with no alignment issues on a 2002 Sienna. If you are having alignment issues, just send it back for another copy and it might be a good fit. Seems to be a little variation in tolerances. I did have to bend the spot that holds the release cable in place so the two sides were a tiny bit closer together. If the cable is too far pulled out when the handle is at resting position, the door will not unlock because the door latch will block it from operating if the handle/cable are pulled too tight. By shortening the amount of cable pulled out to attach it to the handle, mine now locks and unlocks. I can notice the massive difference in stiffness with the all-metal handle over the OEM ones. It's an instant engagement with the release cable. The OEM handle could just barely release at the end of the handle travel when it was working. I might feel comfortable putting the large door panel back on now that I don't have to crawl back and release it by hand when it gets stuck like before.

Decent and seems durable
All metal construction which makes it seem stronger than the OEM part. This was a lot more affordable than the price at the Toyota dealer. Attached mounting bolt did not line up with the holes in the hatch as exactly as they should have, easy fix though, forced the bolt over to one side with a screwdriver and pushed it down into the hole. After the install, I couldn't get the hatch to close all the way, the latch wasn't engaging, but after several attempts to close and unlocking and locking, it suddenly began to close securely, but then when I tested the lock, it locked but wouldn't unlock. Had to unlock and lock several times and attempted to open and it finally started to work, and now works fine. The item possibly needed a short break in period. Overall I am pretty happy. Was able to save quite a bit of money by buying on Amazon and doing the job myself.

Garbage
Total garbage. It looked like the original but after I spent 2 hours installing and trying to figure out why when I locked the rear hatch it wouldn't open...I finally figured out that the space between the cable connector and where the cable housing attached was too far apart, which would stretch the cable too far and not allow the lock mechanism to unlock. When I tried to adjust it to work the metal broke. DO NOT BUY!

Great replacement handle but takes time to install
This is a very good quality METAL replacement for the OEM plastic handle that is prone to break in time. Just be prepared to spend a couple hours removing the interior trim and all the necessary parts to be able to remove the old handle. Also, when doing this part replacement, make sure you check the latch and electric lock actuator. If your rear hatch has been stuck closed for some time, the lock actuator is also a high failure part. Save yourself considerable time by considering replacing the latch and lock mechanism while you have it all open. Otherwise, you will have to repeat the effort the first time you lock the doors and find the actuator does not unlock.

2004 Toyota Sequoia SR5 Perfect Fit
Full Metal Tailgate/Back Hatch Handle that comes with some weight to it! I actually really like how heavy it feels compared to the original. I have a 2004 Toyota Sequoia SR5 & it mounted up perfect. I had already ordered this handle thinking that was the problem, only to find out that the original was probably fine, but the cord that connects to the latch had slack in it, which made you have to pull way further on the cord/wire to get the hatch to open. So this handle didn't solve my original issue, but I personally wanted the metal upgrade anyways, it just happened to not be the real issue & led to me finding the real one๐ Granted, the new latch is only like $20 for a latch & cord assembly so definitely worth getting everything back to new condition

This is a great replacement for the money
This is a great replacement for the money. I was a little worried it would not be all metal at first but it is definitely all metal including the handle! Buy it when you have your problem you will not be disappointed it bolted right in place of stock one. Feels crisp and new now when we open the trunk.
