The Cooper-Atkins DPP800W dual-range digital thermometer is used for monitoring temperature in food products and food service applications, including dishwashers. It measures temperature from -40 to +450 degree Fahrenheit (-40 to +232 degree Celsius), with an accuracy of + or - 1 degree Fahrenheit (+ or - 0.5 degree Celsius) from 32 to 212 degree Fahrenheit (0 to 100 degree Celsius). Its stainless-steel stem-style probe is 4 inch long and has a reduced penetration tip for taking measurements while immersed in liquid or air. It has a 12 inch reach when fully extended with the sheath to protect the operator from heat sources. The Minimum or Maximum temperature memory function stores high and low readings. The ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) plastic housing material has an anti-microbial additive to help deter bacterial growth. The unit operates on a single 1.5V battery and turns off automatically after 10 minutes of non-use to conserve battery life. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: does it come with a certificate of calibration?**
A: No it does not. However , I tested it myself. My water boiled at 210.5 degrees and I am 700 feet above sea level which means the thermometer is perfect.

**Q: Country of origin says usa, but it doesn't smell like usa. where is this manufactured?**
A: I’m really not sure but like most products it’s manufactured in china.

**Q: What do you do with the min/max button.    How do you use it ?**
A: All I know is the max is most likely a preset number, press the button and it shows on mine 190.4 and the min shows 46.4 on mine.  I use mine for work, I test concrete so I haven't had the chance to check out all the features.  Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

**Q: Can this be calibrated?**
A: Saru, my owner's manual does not mention calibration. I'm sure the factory has a calibration routine but this may not be accessible through a secret button combination (or it could be?).
