First choice in active subwoofers, the LS801P combines a cast-frame 18-inch bass driver with a rear-loaded bass horn enclosure made from 15mm birch ply covered in rugged black carpeting (black Ultrathane painted version - LS801PB is also available). Now add 2500 watts of onboard peak power featuring full-time "invisible" limiting. Result - a rugged, high-powered "earth mover." Balanced XLR inputs are included along with 1/4-inch TRS inputs which, at the push of a button, can handle either line-level or speaker-level signals (you can simply connect it to any full-range speaker for quick and easy setups). Connections also include both XLRM and 1/4" Output Link jacks for interconnecting up to 10 LS801P's in larger concert systems. An additional XLR 'Mono Blend Input' allows the LS801P to function in a stereo system by blending the balanced L and R signals from a stereo mixer and creating a single in-phase mono signal

Best Sub I've ever used.
Our band regularly plays gigs where we provide our own P.A., and we usually rent whatever extra gear we need depending on how big the venue/crowd is. We owned two JBL MRX518S's (with an XTi2000) and we were playing outdoors, so we thought we could use a little extra thump. The place we rent from, got a couple LS801P's in and suggested we try one, so we did.We hooked up the P.A., turned on the Yorkville; and from a 100 ft away, in the open air, the kick drum had an incredibly deep, chest thumping ...kick. I realized the JBL's were not on yet - and they didn't really help when we turned them on!The SINGLE Yorkville was easily louder, deeper, and punchier than our two measly JBL's (...or 1 of them, lest you you think it an acoustic problem :-).They sound great too, not just loud. The only negative? whatsoever, is that they are big and heavy. But they do have good handles and lean back casters.I am not a Yorkville employee, or endorsed by them in any way. Just a guy with a band that wants to sound good.Needless to say, When we blew our 3rd JBL woofer, we bought one of these (and replaced TWO JBL's). You will not be disappointed in any way.

Made for the big jobs!
I am not a weekend warrior - I own a entertainment company and a section of that business is school dances. Our schools average 1000-1700 youth. Usually a gym setting for Homecomings and a hall for proms. We were using mackie swa1801 (4) for the larger gigs. Then moved to qsc 181 (4) not as loud. The are serious subs. 2 of them do the work of the 4 we hauled. However before u run out and buy! They are BIG AND HEAVY!The casters make them easy out of a trailer. Wedding guys - not a plus!Large event and live sound!!! You need to hear them to believe!

Wow - does it sound great! Had some Laneys before and nowhere close
Finally hooked up this sub this weekend and gave it a try out. Wow - does it sound great! Had some Laneys before and nowhere close. All the band members raved about the sub. While it is big and heavy, not much can be done there to house an 18" cone and powerful amp inside. The wheels made it easy to move, and the side handles allowed two people to easily tilt it up into the car and back out. Just be careful the first few times you use it and set the levels low until you find the sweet spot. Looking forward to the next gig now!

AMAZING!
I love playing outdoor movies for family and friends and my surround sound needed a little kick to it so based on the write ups I got one of these. It's the most amazing sound imaginable. Played Jurassic World and it felt like the dinosaurs were shaking me out of my seat. A neighbor on the next block down about 10 houses told me her windows were shaking. Wow! Everybody is very impressed.
