If you are looking for a strong magnetic catch/closure, look no further. To be fair, these are strong magnets and allowing the washer, accidentally to make contact with the magnet is not advised.I bought these to hold wooden panels in place on the underneath of a model railway, the panels in themselves have very little weight, simply hide/protect wiring and electrical components. These quite small magnets are capable of holding far more weight than is required for my purpose. I was expecting to use 2 or 4 to hold each panel, one appears perfectly capable. Recommended, value for money no nonsense magnetic catch. Look no further

Well the advertised applications as fridge magnets and for sticking to (magnetic) whiteboards etc., doesn't seem like a great idea after testing them. I stuck one onto my whiteboard and I defy anyone to easily remove it with just your fingers lol! It slides fairly easily but to lift it away I try to get a fingernail under the edge without success. I then prodded it with a metal object which stuck to it and, combined with finger pressure, managed to get it off. Stupidly I placed it on the desk and forgot about it, picked the stack of others up and accidentally moved it near.. Result: loose magnet flies across desk and smashes into stack with a shower of sparks. One shattered magnet and another chipped.No, these are not trivial things for sticking to fridges but are fine for holding sturdy doors closed or embedding in wood, or hanging tools and steel cased doodads etc., but they are a hazard otherwise. For myself, I put a drop of superglue on one side then stick them to a my magnetic whiteboard - that way they don't come away with whatever it is I want to hold in place, or risk two crashing together again.

I had some metal Displate pictures, but the magnetic patches that you use came unstuck and the pictures fell off the wall. Read that some people had used magnets screwed to the wall, so thought I'd give it go. Worked perfectly, stuck the round magnets to the edges of the metal picture, held up to the wall and marked the position of the magnet just showing at the edge of the picture. Then held the magnet up to the wall and marked the position of the hole. Drilled a hole in the wall, fitted a small rawplug and then screwed the magnet to the wall. One of each side of the picture. Works fantastically and not fallen off in several months. Chuffed to bits. Think it would work brilliantly with cupboard doors as you get a metal disc for the magnet to attach to.

Great size and powerful magnets. Everything you need is in a handy little case which makes them easily stored. The black went really well with my wooden door I needed to stay shut.

These magnets were described as strong. That is incorrect. It would be better to say they are extremely strong. If they are together it's almost impossible to separate them with bare hands. They are supplied with plastic washers between them so they can be separated. Fantastic product

Bought these so I could use them to keep door closed without a latch but no way near strong enough to hold the door in place which is really frustrating. Only a 2mm gap but no holding is happening and it’s just swinging in the wind. Will try and find another use for these now as opened and can’t send back.

Every year, I have a lot of difficulty getting my wall planner to stay up on the wall. Need to use loads of bluetac and then as temperatures change it still ends up falling down. More and more paint was coming of with the blue tac. No more! We have mounted the metal disk screw into the wall (sadly noy wall plugs supplied but had a few the right size kicking around) and the wonderfully strong magnet works on that disk through the wall planner. When I need the new one to go up, will just be simple job to slide off the magnet and replace. I went for the silver finish ones as they were a £1 cheaper than the black. Wish I had discovered these years ago.
