Causing my elbows to extend just a bit to far out from the body and forcing the wrists to be turned slightly outward just a bit more than is 100% comfortable. If I was going to give an estimate I would say the bars would be better a about 5 degrees less of an angle overall. Or the bars themselves would need to be about two inches narrower in width to feel more comfortable. Dips have been my favorite exercise since I was a kid and in my later 60's, I still prefer to start the day with a quick set or two of twenty over pushups. This unit sits in the corner next to the TV and gets used regularly when the body allows it. And is a favorite. The unit itself is very well built and sturdy. A quality piece of equipment without a doubt worth the price. If the bars were an inch or two closer, and the angle a few degrees less, it would in my opinion be perfect. This is based on a broader shouldered 5'9 build.
