We really like this hand grinder and take it with us on camping trips. Fresh ground coffee and a beautiful view is why we travel. Nice glass storage jar for beans plus the glass jar for the fresh ground. We like our coffee ground a bit more coarse than pre-ground coffee's available in stores. We enjoy having coffee our way. Perfect solution because we can get the consistent type of grind we want. Always perfect.

It's a simple manual coffee grinder made in China. You'll see a few of them out there with different seller names but the core components of grinder, dual jars, and a cleaning brush, are pretty consistent among the different kits. This one was the best priced one I could find and the only thing it didn't have that some others did was a scoop. That didn't bother me at all as I have plenty of spoons I can use for my coffee grinds. I normally get pre-ground coffee, but we got a few packs of beans as a gift so I picked this one up to give us the capacity to occasionally mash up the beans when needed. I also liked the idea of being able to do this without having to plug another device into an outlet. All right, so Amazon was great, shipped it in a day, and the box included everything that was advertised. You get two jars that can screw one at a time into a grinding assembly that combines a bean holder, burr grinder, and a handle. You adjust the depth of the burr to control the coarseness of the grinds, put coffee beans into the bean holder that's integrated into the device, put a silicone lid over the beans to keep them in place, and affix a handle to the whole thing with a thumbscrew. Then you turn the handle and the thing pulverizes the beans into coffee grinds. In short: the quality is decent and it absolutely does work. Concerns: - Speed. It takes 10-15 minutes to get enough grinds for a full 12 cup pot of coffee, less if you just want to make 5 or 6 cups as I do each morning. You can mitigate this by using the kit's second jar. I grind a bunch the day before or earlier while watching TV and put the lid on it and it's fine and ready to go the next day. If I could have a second lid for the second jar that'd be nice, then I could grind two jars in advance for the whole week. But they only give you one lid. Unfortunately the jars don't have what appear to be standard lid grooves so you are not easily going to find a third-party lid. However, a bit of plastic wrap and rubber band would probably suffice just fine. Or use a sandwich bag; it's really not a complicated issue. - Effort: I read some of the negative reviews complaining about how hard it was to grind the beans. You have to be kidding me. Those are either fake negative reviews, people that didn't use the device properly, people using metal beans, or someone on a deathbed. This thing grinds pretty easy, honestly a toddler could turn the crank. I will concede that my off-hand, the one holding the jar and grind assembly while the other hand cranked, could get a little cramped from gripping tightly for minutes at a time, but it wasn't a problem to take a break if I needed to. If I could ask for an improvement, it would be that the jar and grind assembly be designed for a more comfortable grip. - Durability: So far I've only had the thing for a day and have ground two jars of coffee. I have no idea yet how long it will hold up. The parts do seem well made, but the plastic end on the handle is affixed by a thin dowel of metal and I wonder if it will wear out after many cycles. Overall, item is as described and works fine. For occasional need to grind beans it'll do fine. If you do a lot of grinding, get an electric. 11-Jun-2022 Update: After finishing a bag of beans I took the device apart to clean it. It comes apart easily, but I was dismayed when I was cleaning the burr to find a couple small cracks in the ceramic. They stood out and were easy to see with the color of the coffee beans in them contrasted to the rest of the white burr. I've reviewed them but can't tell if they were like that when I got the grinder or if they developed after grinding. The burr appears to be very solid and firm and so I think it was just like that and certainly the burr is stronger than the beans and there's a good chance it'll continue to work fine for years. I'll update this review later after a few more bags. 24-Sep-2022 Update: Have continued to use this grinder a couple times a week. I am happy to report the small cracks in the burr seem to have been slight flaws that were there in the manufacturing process and haven't hurt the burr's ability to keep grinding.

This is a pretty nifty little coffee grinder for just under $15. It wasn't hard to assemble and adjust, but it is a manual process. If you're adverse to anything that requires more than turning a dial to adjust the grind, buy a more expensive coffee grinder. But if you're willing to take 30 seconds to figure the thing out, it's super easy. It comes with a really basic instruction sheet, so here's my version: Remove the top nut that holds the handle on, lift out the stopper piece that holds your adjustment in place (a nice feature), and turn the star nut to raise and lower the grinding burr. Moving it higher will give a finer grind, lowering it will provide a coarser grind. I just pulled it up as high as it would go, then gave the star nut a few twists to lower it a bit. That resulted in the moderately fine grind I wanted. The central shaft is keyed, shaped so that the stopper piece (adjustment keeper) and handle will only fit on in a certain position. This keeps either from slipping as you use the grinder. Using the grinder wasn't effortless, but it wasn't hard at all. As an old mechanic whose hands aren't what they used to be, it wasn't uncomfortable. The knob on the grinder's handle is a nice size, and easy to hold on to. It grinds coffee beans with minimum effort. Two mostly full grinder bowls of coffee beans was enough to fill the jar. I use ground coffee in my K-Cup brewer along with the K-Cups, and I'm guessing that the ground coffee in the jar will fill the filter cup for my brewer four or five times. It was really easy to clean, too. Remove the top nut, take off the handle and lift out the stopper, spin the star nut off, and the grinding burr comes right out. Just look at the number of threads on the grinder shaft above the star nut before you remove it. That'll let you approximate your previous setting when you reassemble it. In conclusion: I don't grind a lot of coffee beans, just when I find good whole bean coffee on sale. If you grind coffee beans for every cup you drink, you might want to spend more money. But for me, this little guy is perfect. It was so easy to disassemble and clean that I'll try it for other grinding tasks. When I've got veggies like celery or carrots in the fridge on the verge of going bad before I use them, I'll dehydrate them and grind them into a dried veggie mix to flavor soups and such. I've used a little twist grinder to do that before, but I think this grinder would be great for that too. It also came with a cleaning brush (another nice feature for the price), and a long handled scoop that has an alligator tooth gripper on the back. I have no idea what that's for. If you're on a tight budget like me, and want a pretty good grinder for a great price, buy this one.

The grinder works great. Anyone complaining it's too slow didn't adjust their burr correctly. The rubber cover works great. The jars are great. The jar lid on the other hand... Well, let's just say I had an accident and the jar with a lot of ground coffee in it hit the ground. The jar survived, but the lid shattered. Fortunately my wife had an off-size jar he had already purchased whose lid fit. This product would be better if it fit a standard mason jar size. I know there's another one being marketed that claims if it's standard mason jar size, but it doesn't have very good ratings is why I bought this one.

I like the capacity of the hopper and the glass jar, which are larger than another manual coffee grinder I own. Making a batch of cold brew, I didn't have to refill the hopper as often. But grinding is definitely slower than with my other grinder. Of course, this one was more affordable, has a spare jar for grounds, ceramic, etc. If you are in a hurry, this might not be the best choice, but it certainly grinds coffee beans.

This is my first coffee grinder, so my experience with them is limited. So far I'm really pleased with it. I just finished my first 2lb bag of Tim Horton's beans and the grinder did quite well. Getting the correct grind size took some tinkering but it has stayed consistant since I dialed in my perferred setting. For a person that changes grind sizes often this would be somewhat of a pain. Grinding the coffee has become a morning ritual that I enjoy. I grind 50 grams at a time. It takes awhile but I'm retired and have the time. The size of the grinder and jars is perfect for my use and it doesn't take a lot strength to operate. Overall, I'm glad I purchased this one. One other thing, this was my first time trying Tim Horton's original and that's some dang good coffee.

I do like this little manual coffee grinder - but it is a very slow way to grind coffee beans. If you need speed then purchase an electric grinder as you'll be done in 30 seconds. This will take at least 5 minutes for a medium - fine grind and will produce enough to fill about 6 K-pod filters. I sit and watch TV while I grind as I find holding this in my lap much easier than trying to stand at the counter and grind for 5 minutes. You do get a shoulder workout, just from long long you are grinding. The physical action of turning the handle while grinding for so long has helped me return some muscle strength around my shoulders and rotator cuffs which has helped with movement and less pain - so for me this is also a physical therapy tool. I like that this has a ceramic grinder, verses a metal one. Hand grinding produces less heat on the beans and that is supposed to help with better flavor. I don't have a gourmet coffee taste testing tongue, so I can't really say that this is any better than an electric (or metal) grinder as far as the coffee flavor that is produced after grinding. I just prefer the ceramic. Easy to take this apart for complete washing and drying. And easy to remember how to put it back together as well. The grinder head only fits the jars this comes with (so far I haven't found any other container this will screw onto). This only comes with ONE jar lid!! Like why? It comes with two jars. They assume you will leave the grinder on the one jar after grinding - and I don't. I grind both regular coffee and decaf, so I need a lid for both jars (in case I have left over grinds after filling my K-pods). I keep my coffee in air tight containers, and that includes my reusable filled K-pod filters as they are not air tight little coffee filters. I only gave 4 stars due to the lack of supplying two lids as I'm left with using a plastic wrap and rubber band on the one jar to seal it and I find that frustrating, as having the correct lid would be super nice! Ich habe schon ala Kind Kaffee mit - damals noch - einer klassischen Kaffeemühle aus Holz gemahlen und Spaß daran gehabt - dies schafft auch diese Kaffeemühle 👍😁. Mir hat gefallen, dass ein 2. Glas dabei ist, um gemahlenen Kaffee aufzubewahren, zB für den Kaffee am nächsten Morgen. Der Dosierlöffel ist aus Metall und sein Stiel hat auch eine Klammer Funktion um eine Sackerl Kaffee wieder zu verschließen, auch so kleine Dinge fallen positiv auf. Das mahlen selber ist meiner Meinung nach mühelos, man muß nur im Sinne von Zen regelmäßig drehen, klar muß man "Kraft aufwenden" es ist ja schließlich manuell, wem das zuviel ist, soll sich doch bitte eine elektrische kaufen. Ich habe ca 10 Minuten inklusive nachfüllen der Bohnen benötigt um das Glas voll zu bekommen - ohne Stress und gleichmäßig gedreht, ist auch entspannend. Durch den Silikon -Deckel können auch keine Bohnen wieder raus springen! Zerlegen und reinigen ist sehr einfach und praktikabel, ebenso die nahezu stufenlose Einstellung des Mahlgrads.Der Kaffee ist auf der feinsten Einstellung natürlich nicht soo fein wie ein gekaufter gemahlener Kaffee, aber meine Oma hat diesen Mahlgrad (sogar etwas gröber damals) auch im Espressokocher aufgebrüht, so what, man muss nicht päpstlicher als der Papst sein. Also alles bestens. Ich hab mich nur deswegen gegen eine klassische Kaffeemühle aus Holz entschieden, weil das Glas hygienischer ist und der Kaffee nicht in den Ecken der Schublade pickt (war so) und wegen der Aufbewahrung. Ein zusätzlicher Bonus ist der Duft des frisch gemahlenen Kaffees 😁👍.
