What’s the differences between this and the many $50-$100 light bars on Amazon that seem brighter? (12000 lumens for $50 or 8000 lumens for $500?!?!?)

First, you don't want to buy a light bar based on the raw lumens advertised. Lumens is great but it's how that bar works with the lumens. These cheaper $50-$100 bars just advertise raw lumens and that's all they are selling. When you buy a Baja Designs light bar you pay for quality. The bar is made in America (San Marcos, CA) and is made from over 60% of American Sourced products. So it's not some bar made overseas OR a bar made of 100% overseas parts... good ole Americans build this bar with as many american parts as possible. You can also replace the lenses on these bars so if you decide you want to go with a different pattern/color later, you can swap out the lenses and the gaskets. They are not glued in place. Then there is the warranty. Lifetime warranty. So this is what makes this bar different then some other bar online. It's more money but the quality is why you pay for this.

Why are the specs different on amazon vs. baja designs site for the 20" s8 - white lens cover (driving/comb)?

This is because the 1st person to publish the product used the wrong specifications. It's always advisable to buy from an authorized Baja Designs dealer in lieu of a random Amazon seller. We, at 4x4TruckLEDs, are authorized dealers and always sell the latest model available. This is sku #70-2003 which is 12,700 lumens. If you buy this product from us you get the S8 bar with 12,700 lumen opposed to another product that may not have the correct specs.
