Would 1/2 pint be suitable for single portion steak puddings or should I get 1 pint ones?

I would think the 1/2 pint basin would be suitable for a single portion steak pudding as I have used them to make 8oz Christmas puddings, with serve two people.

are these basins oven proof

Hello, Thank you for your question, NO they are not oven proof , They are boilable ,or safe to use in a pressure cooker, but you must NOT let them boil dry, They can also go in the micro wave . The ONLY way to use them in the oven is in a bain marie but again do not let it boil dry the maximum oven temperature is 160 centigrade Hope this helps Kind Regards Howard and Anna
