Although 5-minute cooking is advertised, I find that 7-1/2 minutes at simmer is better. Delicious oats!

Easy to make with a large Pyrex in the microwave and texture and taste is just right.

Best instant oatmeal! Steel-cut oats have a great texture that holds up to cooking, so you don’t end up with a bowl of mushy glue. The instant part only takes a few minutes, where regular takes way too long.

This is the first time that I have tried Irish oatmeal, and I am pleasantly surprised. The consistency is entirely different from Quaker oats.

I bought these as a gift for a senior citizen friend from church, who is practical, eats a healthy diet, and works out at the gym 4 days a week...and she's in her 80's! She had never had Irish oatmeal before and she LOVED this product. She's now a fan. My family and I have been eating McCann's Irish Oatmeal for decades. Quite tasty and hearty. Different than your average oatmeal brands. Better.

Trying to be healthier, so I started making this for breakfast every morning, with a few berries on top. Kinda tough to get use to if you're not a big oatmeal fan (do those exist?) But overall it's a solid, low calorie breakfast option, and heart healthy. I prefer it to Quaker or the instant oatmeals. I make this on the stove in about seven minutes. Quick and easy, but not as tasty as Capt'n Crunch.

Excellent oatmeal! I use 1/4 cup oats to 3/4 cup water with a touch of salt. Microwave for 3 minutes. Then stir, add walnuts, cinnamon and a pat of butter and microwave for another 2 minutes. Comes out very tasty and filling. No complaints about the quality.

A staple in our home, great taste and consistent quality. I wish they would go back to the old label, the new material is just too slick.

I love this oatmeal. I grew up in New York City, and this was something you'd find in specialty shops there. It's much different from rolled oats, because it takes a lot longer to cook (not the 5 minutes it says on the can), and it doesn't get as mushy as standard rolled out flakes. It's flavorful and delicious, and I love cooking this up for a hot breakfast on a cold morning.
