Purchased this anti-static wrist strap as I was building a PC near a carpeted flooring (best to avoid, if you can), and did not want to risk any static discharge into expensive computer components.It is exactly as advertised, cheap, and definitely effective. The strap and the elastic are solidly built, with the attachment end proving to be solid through the entire building process as well. Definitely a recommended purchase for the price (around $5)!Since my purchase of this strap, Amazon has since classified this product as "Add-on", meaning that you have to have a total of $25 worth of product before they allow you to purchase this. This, in my opinion, sullies the value of the product, but it is still definitely a 5-star worthy one if you can find another $20 or more to place into your cart.Please spare a click to let Amazon know that this review has been helpful for you! Works as it should

Well I didn't short anything out while upgrading my ssd and ram in my laptop, so must be working! :)

I can personally tell you that for one it does it's job of keeping static away from killing my parts because I built my very first computer with this attached. Incidentally my hand kept bumping into the motherboard and other circuit delicates but in the end nothing happened because I'm writing this review with that computer now. As for how the strap performed during that process, well while clipped to a metal piece of my computer's side panel, it stretched with little resistance as I arched back and forth over the case, only needing to unclip and clip again when it starts getting in the way. It has a good stretch length, I've yet to have it uncoiled all the way (my case isn't that big!), and the elastic strap keeps the device in place with out it slumping under like a sloth on a log.For details, the elastic strap is adjustable, pulling the strap at the end unhooks the locking clasp, adjust to wrist circumference, and then lock the clasp. To remove, pull end of strap and the clasp will release. The clip is metal and is spring operated (squeeze and release), with triangle teeth that grip tightly (won't cut into your finger though if you're bored to try, not painless I will say).Easy-on, easy-off, comfortable, good length and does what it is supposed to do for a good price. Definitely add to your cart if you can!
