Danner 02391 Pondmaster Submersible Halogen Pond Lightset, Single Light with Transformer

I bought this pond light through Amazon in November 2010 and in February 2011 it stopped working. I had been quite satisfied with it up until then and thought it was a good value. I contacted Danner Manufacturing and they said I should send it to them for repair or replacement, with the receipt. I did that and within a couple of weeks they sent me a new one. Nice customer service, right? I was impressed until I read the packing slip that accompanied the replacement.It included a snarky note explaining that the company's products are not covered by warranty when purchased through Amazon, Ebay, flea markets or other "non accredited vendors." The product was being replaced as a "one time courtesy only." Another note at the bottom told me that I should use an accredited vendor the next time I buy a Danner Mfg. product. All highlighted in yellow.I was very surprised to see Amazon considered the same as flea markets and resellers on Ebay and reason to void the warranty. Isn't Amazon just like buying the product from any other legitimate retailer? Does Danner Mfg. expect me to walk up to their factory door and buy the product in order for the warranty to be valid?So now that they've generously replaced the product as a one-time courtesy for this bad customer who bought through Amazon, if it breaks again I guess I'm out of luck.Just a word to the wise. Buy this through Amazon and Danner Mfg. will not honor the warranty. If I need another pond light, I'll probably still buy through Amazon, but it won't be a product from this company.4-21-11 Update: The new light stopped working. Since Danner made clear that they won't honor the warranty, I have no recourse.

So far so good. Purchased it about 6 weeks ago. So far so good. Time will tell. Right now it's working fine and is reliable. We'll see if I can same the same thing about the product a year from now.

I bought this to replace one that I had before. It works great and the price was good. I loved it.

The only complaint I have is that it lacks a compartment to weigh it down on the bottom of the pool.

Good replacement for what we had.
