Hhyn Silicone Basting Pastry Brush Set 5 Pack, Multicolor

This silicone basting brush set is of excellent quality. They are extremely easy to clean and maintain sauce retention perfectly without dripping. I'm impressed by the heat resistance for BBQ use, and the fact that they are dishwasher safe is a huge plus. The bristle softness is just right for delicate pastries too.

Can't believe these are so cheap. Beats those hair brushes that fall apart and cannot go in the dishwasher. Just don't know what I'm going to do with 4 of them. Ah! A gift for a neighbor, I suppose.

I use this style of brush for basting food, before and during cooking, with melted butter, oil, sauces, etc. For cleaning and sanitation, I want something that is not made from wood or absorbent natural materials (animal hair or plant fibers); that is easy to clean / dishwasher safe; and is heat resistant. I don’t like some of the two-part brushes that I have tried, where the head falls off easily, and the joints make them harder to clean. The individual, silicone, bristles on these brushes are more flexible than the dense fibers / hair on the ‘natural’ pastry brushes, which make thicker sauces harder to spread. On the 10-inch (overall length) X 1-3/4-inch (width) brush, there are 5 rows of larger diameter bristles, compared to 4 rows of smaller diameter bristles on the 8-inch X 1-1/4- inch wide brush, which makes a stiffer brush. So, I will likely use the larger, stiffer, brush, even when I don’t need that size. As an experiment, I cut some of the bristles shorter, which them stiffer when brushing: a significant improvement! After receiving these, I found a slicone basting brush at a local retailer with thicker, stiffer, bristles. But, I will keep these as inexpensive ‘extras’. The handles on these brushes are very stiff, and strongly attracted to a magnet, indicating a steel core (some stainless steel is magnetically attractive). Different color brushes help keep things straight, such as when preparing a meal where different sauces are used on different dishes, or when used on raw meat, etc.

Good for basting and making your baked and candy making. I didn’t think I would need four of them, but they have been getting used on a regular basis. Nice size for not only your use, but for the little hands helping out.

Love these brushes! They wash easily, including in the dishwasher, have not even remotely broken down and I love the colors. What's not to love? I feel they're a great value.

I was looking for a cheap set of these silicone brushes to use for putting butter over my home made biscuits and these worked great. They are also dishwasher safe which is a bug plus because after baking all day the last thing I want to do is dishes.
