Small and durable rice cooker
Nice and easy to use rice cooker. Clean easy design. Non-stick material keeps rice cooking softly with easy clean up. Small size is great for space -saving.

Black & Decker 6 cup rice cooker
So this is only my second use in this product. I did notice that a lot of reviews say that the durability is trash if that comes up, I will edit my review but for now it’s exactly what I needed. It’s just me and my son I’m not allowed to eat as much rice so it’s a perfect size. I do wish that I had got the one just a little bit bigger for when I do want to do bigger things of rice but that’s OK. I just wanted to test it out. I do recommend that if you don’t like your rice so mushy to do a half a cup less than it recommends. The shut off feature is precise that switches it to warm after the rice is done cooking. It’s nice and fluffy once I figured out how much water to put to my rice to my liking I mean with any product you have to be careful with it. I’m hoping it doesn’t break because I do like it, but we’ll see what happens and like I said I’ll come back to rewrite my review if anything happens for now it’s a great product and I think it’s a wonderful addition to my little tiny makeshift kitchen.

perfect size
This has been great. It is the perfect size for one or two people. I generally do two meals at a time. i am transient right now and it is small enough to just in my suitcase. I use it for brown rice and quinoa. I've had no issues with the cooker or anything not being cooked properly,. Easy to clean, nothing sticks. I usually set to cook and come back way later and everything is coked and still warm, the warmer works great. I've never really paid any attention to cook time because I always set and forget but I do know it is faster than stove top and I don't have to babysit it.

Worth every dollar
I use this product very frequently, around 3 or 4 times per week. I have used it to cook rice and quinoa, as well as to steam cauliflower and sweet potatoes. This is the only rice cooker I've owned, and as such, I don't have anything to compare it to. However, I have to say it's quite nice. Perfectly cooks white rice and quinoa (the only things I've tried thus far), and the steaming function with the steamer basket works just as well. Now, I can't say that the issues I've had are exclusive to this cooker, and I don't even consider them to be huge issues. 1. The steamer basket is stained orange from steaming sweet potatoes. Is that normal? I don't know, but it isn't a huge deal. It just makes me wonder if the plastic they used for the steamer basket is maybe a bit too porous. 2. If you try to cook your rice/quinoa in broth, you are going to encounter a few problems. These aren't really problems with the rice cooker, but they still warrant consideration. The broth is going to bubble and boil off much faster than plain water, that means that it's going to make a mess, and if you use only broth you will undercook your rice (if you go by the directions). I recommend using the regular amount of water and adding some broth as extra. 3. The cooker does not cool down fast enough to not "burn" the rice. I say burn in quotations because some people like the crispy rice. I do not. 4. Not actually a problem I have experienced, because I have been avoiding it, but I have a feeling if you try to cook the maximum amount of rice that this cooker can hold (3 cups), you will definitely overflow the cooker as it boils. HOWEVER, the way that the cooking dish sits inside of the cooker prevents the liquid from damaging the electronics. I typically put a kitchen towel either over (to stop the splatter) or under (to catch the splatter) the cooker. This helps prevent messes. Overall, this is a great first rice cooker for me. It requires very little input or effort, and cooks the rice perfectly (minus the crispy edges).

Inexpensive and Works Well
I decided to try out a rice cooker to see if it was a better way to cook rice than with just a pot on the stove. I wanted just a basic cooker, so I bought this one. It works well if you're just looking for a basic cooker at an inexpensive price. It doesn't have all the features more expensive cookers have, but it still does a nice job with cooking rice. The cleanup afterwards is easy. The only feature that would have made this unit even better would have been a timer, so I just use a kitchen timer. I haven't tried steaming vegetables in it yet, but I think it will do a good job based on my experience with cooking rice.

Easy Appliance
We use this almost daily and it works phenomenally! Just follow the measuring directions in the booklet because it is slightly different than the usual ratio. It also is very easy to clean!

Broke within a Year
While it lasted, this rice cooker worked well. It cooked rice easily and relatively quickly, making it a handy tool for weeknight or quick dinners. It was affordable, lightweight, and small enough to make it easy to store without being too small to make enough rice to meal prep. However, I purchased this item less than a year ago and it has broken. In the middle of a batch of rice, it started giving off a terrible chemical smell. It wasn't burning plastic, though I checked around and under the pot to be sure. It just gave off a horrible chemical stink that makes it unsafe to use further. I understand that small kitchen appliances sometimes give off a smell from manufacturing residue the first time that they're used, but I've owned this rice cooker for several months. I'd say that it's used maybe three times a month, give or take. There has been no indication of wear or any reason that it should suddenly break. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of durability. I will be purchasing from another brand for my next rice cooker.

Perfect for morons who can't cook two ingredients. Like me.
This has to be the least expensive non stick cook ware ever available on amazon. I am one of those males who has a hard time doing anything for himself and I usually just go to the store and buy beef jerky and consider that a meal alongside my coffee but this rice cooker has changed my life I think. It's been two weeks and I've done nothing but make rice it even has a marker on it that lets you know if you're about to screw up your rice or not because it does everything for you after you fill the water to the line. I was scared at first because the instruction manual is as thick as a novel but sadly it is the same directions repeated 36 times in 12 languages for what I assume is the purpose to prevent idiots from melting the plastic dish that comes with the cooker. It doesn't actually tell you what the dish is for it just says to remove it before you heat anything. It can't be used a strainer because the holes are too big and you can't put dry rice on it because it'll stick to the plastic. There's a really wide spoon it comes with too and I'm just guessing that's for shoveling it into my mouth which I've been doing regularly. It works like a toaster so you can't screw it up even if you tried, and you can even leave it on for six days or until your roommates discover you've left it on again while you were asleep. Don't touch the little metal ring on the inside while it's plugged in. The instruction manual actually says not to do this but I tried it anyway and now and missing a layer skin on the index finger of my right hand so you've been warned.

Literally unusable in the country it's sold in
Why would you sell an item in the UK that doesn't have a usable plug? I've even bought a specific Asia/US/AUS converter but it's a specific plug with one large prong than the other that doesn't even work with that. Why does the product say NOTHING about this in the description. What a waste of time. Can't even review it properly BECAUSE IT CAN'T BE USED

What a steal! What a nice little rice cooker!
This little rice cooker not only cooks fast but also cooks well - the rice comes out so delicious!! We had a rather expensive Japan-made rice cooker that cost us more than $420 for some years. I bought that one because it was said to be able to cook delicious rice. And it did. I hesitated about whether we should buy the same brand again after we moved. But our new kitchen is kind of small, and we no longer eat a lot of rice. So I bought this really cheap one, not pinning much hope on the flavour. But what a pleasant surprise! It is so simple to use, takes only around 20 minutes, and the rice comes out almost as delicious!! I also like the steamer that I do use for steaming little things. Very convenient. Highly recommend it!
