There is another model of this that I ended up getting for my Sensecap M1 which requires 3A. As long as the voltage is correct, the amp rating can be higher than what you need. You lose the POE power in the process. It is powered by a UniFi PoE port, drawing around 4W. I've been running this now for a few weeks and it has been very reliable. I've not run a speed test, but I can see the port has sync'd at Gigabit Ethernet speeds. This is so easy to use, you simply plug into the ethernet port of the Pi, and the USB-C power port of the Pi- and then attach your ethernet cable. It springs into life without any trouble.
