It's not 100% dust free, however, so far it's been 99.5% dust free for us, and we've got 4 litter boxes with this in it. I bought the anti bacterial type and it really seems to keep the odor under control from 3 little monsters. The litter clumps and absorbs well. They don't track it through the house as much as the traditional clay, but, it does seem to require more sweeping up in the laundry room where the boxes are. A worthwhile trade-off for the dust! None of the little monsters had any issues getting used to it, so that was also a plus, and I prefer the easy to handle plastic jugs over the terrible, cardboard boxes. I have one cat and one litterbox. I totally scrub the litterbox every 3 weeks with soap and water and at that time add 1 jug in the litterbox. In between times, I periodically add additional litter as it goes down from scooping. I have never had to use a jug in one week. As directed, when you first put it in the box, it should be at least 3" deep so that it clumps good and makes it is easy to scoop all the waste out. I'm not sure why you are going through a jug a week, as you shouldn't be unless you have several litterboxes to fill.
