A: Not only no, but you didn't even specify which type Square D panel you have. Figure that out BEFORE you buy breakers, which often can not be returned. If you don't understand this, call an electrician.

**Q: My box says 120ac is this compatible with thql1120gf 20 amps**
A: Yes, this is a standard 20 amp 120 volt ac circuit breaker

**Q: do breakers go bad? If so, how can I tell if I have a bad breaker or a short? I had an electrician come out, but he ran out of time and had to leave.**
A: Yes, they do go bad. If it stays closed and you have no voltage at the terminal on the side, it's bad. If it won't stay closed, it's either bad or you have a short.
  Replace it with a new one. If the new one won't stay closed, you have a short somewhere on that circuit.
