New Balance Women's 577 V1 Lace-up Shoes

This older style of my favorite New Balance's walking shoes were so Comfortable but difficult to find anybody still stocking them. They fit my feet as if they'd been made-to-order, and I never thought I'd be able to find another pair. in my size--until I did--by accident--an unused new pair that had been returned, unworn, and on sale, in my size.! They made the pair I'd been wearing look so old, in comparison, but they fit the same comfortable way the originals still fit me. And the discounted price was an added bonus! What a wonderful surprise to be able to buy a brand-new pair of my favorite old walking shoes!

I first bought this style shoe in white 2002 per my Podiatrist recommendation. During my nursing career I always wore white 577's during my 12/16 hour shifts. My feet were happy I chose them. I still weaar them even though I'm retired. A fantastic show for elderly due to stability the shoe gives. They make a great shoe for distance walking. No idea why I can only chose 4 stars when I want 5. Priced fairly

I have three versions of the 990’s Thought i would try these 557’s for yard work because they are cheaper than 990’s and all leather so may be easier to clean. Ordered my regular size and put them on to walk around the house - within 30 minutes one foot was hurting. I requested to exchange the regular width for a wide. The wider pair was received the next day and fit better. They shoes seem to require some breaking in as they are making creaking noises but i am keeping them and will wear them for a couple of hours a day until they are quiet. Support seems decent - i like that they are all black and no suede or fabric on uppers (for yard work). Cannot attest to durability as i have not had them long enough. Can say my older 990 is 8 years old still feels great - but are hard to keep clean that’s days. Think it probable that all NB shoes are durable but if anything happens to this 577 in the next couple of years i will report back.

These shoes are very comfortable, wide toe box, great price. New Balance is my favorite.

I am replacing a pair exactly like this. The reason I picked this shoe is because it is all one color, is leather and can be worn to work. The shoes comfort gets better with wear. At first the top is tight a little (not bad) when laced up. And the laces need to be inserted in one of the two top shoelace openings to keep the back from sliding on the heel. One thing I will watch is that, with the first pair, the leather has come apart at the sole on the outside of each shoe. Possibly the leather rotted and broke loose. I have had them at least three years, and I wore them pretty much every day. I have another pair in white, but I do not wear that pair as often. One reason is the white pair looks really big - optical illusion probably - since both shoes are the same size. And white shows wear more.

Let me start by saying the shoes are comfortable enough. If you are used to wearing standard sneakers and have normal sized feet, you'll probably think these are great. The sole is comfortable (at least so far) and the toe box is roomier than average. For me personally, they're a little snug. I wore "barefoot" shoes for about a year. And while the cushion-less soles eventually wreaked havoc on my knees and sciatica, I got accustomed to being able to spread my toes out when I walked. As a result, regular sneakers cause me no end of troubles with my toes, including rubbing my pinky toe raw because it can no longer handle rubbing up against the interior of the shoe all day. I've gone through a number of brands, including comfort heavyweights like Skechers and Dr. Scholl's, to no avail. I ordered these in extra wide, thinking for sure that would provide me enough room in the toe box to mitigate the rubbing. If these are "extra wide" I'd hate to see what the narrow looks like! These fit more in line with what I'd expect from a normal wide in other brands. They're extremely tight on the tops of my feet and despite having a roomier toe box than other brands still squeeze my toes more than I would like. I'm hoping they just need to be broken in. They still fit slightly better than others I've tried, and the toe box is definitely better than other brands which come to more of a point. I also appreciate that the upper portion of the shoe being 100% leather which will hopefully soften with time so they don't feel as constricting. If there's any change in fit after wearing them for a while, I will edit my review accordingly.

I love these shoes. I am older and have wide feet and have been wearing New Balance shoes for decades. They are very comfortable and the wide is very wide. I have upped my walking from 3-3.5 miles a day to 4.5-5 without pain. I can get up in the morning and start moving pain free very quickly. These are the very best walking shoes I have ever worn. They do need a couple of days to break in.

Too narrow for 2E. I have been wearing this model since 2019. The sizing, shape and material have recently changed. The width is now more narrow. The length and toe box are still the same. The top line is lower. The tongue is super long in comparison. The tongue is more narrow and the laced sides are lower. This creates more open spread when the show is laced up. Plus it makes the laces uncomfortable. And last, the shoe material behind the leather top covering is so stiff it makes the fit uncomfortable. The last is SL-2 with a narrow heel and wider toe box with toe height, which I need. I'm bummed that NB changed this model.

Très heureuse de mon achat! Je suis très difficile à chausser vu la largeur de mon pied et mon oignon. Je devais toujours utiliser des souliers de course comme souliers de marche car ils étaient en tissu extensible. J’ai eu longtemps des Newbalance et maintenant des Asisc car ces 2 cies ont des chaussures larges. J’avais un peu peur de commander un soulier en cuirs (moins extensible). Mais ils sont parfaits et confortables! J’ai dû enlever la semelle et la remplacer par une plus mince pour utiliser mes orthèses (car mon pied sortait). C’est super qu’elle s’enlève! J’avais aussi commandé des 411 mais tant qu’à moi, ça ne correspond pas à des larges. Mes pieds seront heureux à Disney pour des milliers de pas!😄
