Sturdy and effective.
We use two of these connected to a hose splitter to water shrubs. Seems more effective and economical than hosing down the mulch and hoping enough water gets to the plant roots before it evaporates or runs off. Moisture meter verifies effective root feeding. Very sturdy and well made.

Best Root Feeder Ever
After reading other reviews of this product, I decided that this design would be the best, long-lasting and easy-to-use product for giving my distressed shrubs and trees some deep root feeding. I followed the advice of another reviewer and bought a control valve, which was easily added. With the control valve, flow through the tip can be controlled to be just a trickle while plunging the "needle" into the soil, which is often hard and compacted by the time the tree or shrub needs extra watering. The results are great after using this feeder, and the fact it is all stainless steel construction means I will never again have to worry about rust or other corrosion. There was a concern that instead of a sharp "nose cone", the tip is open and the water comes straight out the bottom. In use, this was never a problem. As with the many previous root feeders I have used over the years and eventually discarded, it was always necessary to have some water flow to keep the tip from clogging while inserting to the desired depth. To my pleasant surprise, the Varomorus Root Feeder is very clog-resistant, probably because the opening at the tip is much larger than with the competitor's products (rhymes with "Ross"). As I inspected the construction of this product, the welds are beautifully done, the whole thing has been polished to a brilliant shine, which makes it easy to clean, and the pride in craftmanship is readily apparent. I would happily recommend this item to anyone who prefers buying a well-made product to keep, and not having to go back and replace it after a few years.

Excellent product. Works great.
This is such a nice product that we ordered another one. It goes deep which is good for the trees and you can put it right where you need it. It helps to install a ball valve to it before you attach the hose so you can manage it locally. Tune the valve down until it's sending out very weak streams and it sinks right into the ground with no effort without getting clogged. Also, it's a beautifully finished and assembled piece of work. Proud to see something this nicely thought out and executed made in the USA at a reasonable price.

Qualify. But Would Suggest A Ball Valve Added To It.
Works Good But Could Use A Ball Valve On It.

Good root watering tool
Heavy duty root watering tool. Not convinced it is made of stainless steel but it has held up fine so far.

Sturdy and simple
Used a few times so far and works great for deep watering our trees after a dry winter. Had no issues connecting to a standard garden hose - there is a nice thick washer inside so just tighten it enough to prevent any dripping or leaks at the hose connection. I like that it is all one piece of metal to push into the soil and it is very sturdy. I insert it into the ground while the water is on so it helps soften the soil and makes it easier to get in.

Great Product
Just what my hop seed plants needed. They grew by leaps and bounds the first year watering the roots. Very well made. Built to last.

Wrong solution for my root-watering job
After becoming dissatisfied with flimsiness and failures of several Ross root feeders, I was excited to try the Varomorus, which many reviewers said was durable. And it appears to be that. However, as soon as I opened the box I discovered what for me is a deal-breaker. It is designed with only one exit hole for the water, under the tip and sending its stream straight down. I had anticipated what seems logical, something like the Ross's four holes equally spaced around the circumference of the barrel so that water spreads outward horizontally from the device at a uniform depth approximating that of the roots. Maybe Varomorus has a reason for their design but I don't get it.
