It's a pretty good thermometer, I've had it a while and use it for chemistry applications so it gets exposed to extreme pH ranges and temperature. The thermistor wire has only just now worn out, which happens with all thermistors; nothing wrong with the meter though, great quality for such a low price. **Q: Do you sell other probes (specifically n-type) that are compatible with this device? I am unable to find other types of probes for this device.** A: K type plug only **Q: I'm annealing brass, how fast does this read temperature? Response time?** A: It is virtually instant. The mass of the tip of the thermocouple is so small that it responds to changes in heat very quickly. **Q: When recording maximum temperature what is the sample rate? How many times does it sample per second?** A: I'm not sure about maximum temperature, but when I used it to check the AC air outlet from the ceiling diffuser after cleaning the coil, the display screen went from 84F down to 62F in a jiffy. It didn't seem to give me the readings I was expecting so I did an ice point measurement. One thermocouple gave an error of about 4C and the other about 1.5C (regardless of channel). I am guessing this is mostly thermocouple error and I hope to obtain another shortly to use as a reference point. In short, you seem to get what you pay for. Bought separately a thermocouple rated at 500 C. The combination will do the job. For the price the meter is good quality and works well.
