In any case, the cache is used only during read/write operations, you can’t directly address it as a user and don’t have to think about it at all. You can reformat in APFS for best Mac performance or use any other scheme you need, including multiple partitions each formatted differently. **Q: Will this ssd work as a external hard drive for ps5** A: Yes, you should be able to use this as an external drive for the PS5 and get full speed on it as long as you plug it into one of the USB 3.2 ports. However, you will still not be able to play PS5 games off of it. You can play PS4 games off of it with improved load times. Per Daniel Bastian's answer regarding the Xbox Series X. You can use the T7 on Series X, but you will not get the full speed. Series X uses USB 3.1 gen 1 ports, which are slower than this SSD. For Series X, you would be better off buying the T5 SSD. **Q: Does the gray t7 match the space gray of a MacBook?** A: no, the ssd is darker than the space grey mac **Q: Can i boot windows 10 directly using boot camp if i connect it to my mbp? im running out of storage on my mac so i don’t want to partitin&useboot camp** A: Yes. You might need to Google how to use an external drive, but the read/write speeds on this are exceptional (1GB/s), and the USB-C to USB-C cable it comes with is top-notch (as is the USB-C to USB-A cable). Obviously, you're going to want to be vary careful not to move the cables when in-use. ## Frequently Bought Together - SAMSUNG T7 Portable SSD, 2TB External Solid State Drive, Speeds Up to 1,050MB/s, USB 3.2 Gen 2, Reliable Storage for Gaming, Students, Professionals, MU-PC2T0H/AM, Blue - ProCase Hard Carrying Case Compatible for Samsung T7/ T7 Touch Portable SSD with 2 Cable Ties, Shockproof Travel Organizer for 500GB 1TB 2TB USB 3.2 External Solid State Drives -Black --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/253504779-t7-touch-portable-ssd-500gb-usb-3-2-2tb-mu](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/253504779-t7-touch-portable-ssd-500gb-usb-3-2-2tb-mu) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
