Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Aluminum Case with Dual Cooling Fan Metal Shell Black Box for RPI 4B (with Dual Fan)

The metal shell is very well made and provided with screws and a hex key for assembly. Thermal pads are provided and need to be positioned on the chips before the top cover is put in place. The smaller top cover is the actual heatsink for the Pi. The larger bottom cover is just a protective shell. Overall, it is just enough of a case to give some passive cooling (I purchased the fanless version) and provides physical protection for the pi. It looks good and is very robust and compact.

The heat sink will not fit on a pi 4b, the indentation on the sink to fit around the NIC is actually on the wrong side. The only way this aligns is if the heat sink is upside down. Total rip off! I honestly wish I could add photographs to this review to show how bad this product actually is.

Substituted the the previous transparent case, because the fan was making noise and was not super efficient. This unit fans are almost noiseless. my Pi4 is running at around 46 degrees Celcius, versus ~70 without the fan.

Edit: I ordered a second one but the seller sent me an older model that doesn’t fit the 4B properly, that was used and damaged by the previous owner, that was missing the spare thermal pads and a screw. Beware of what you receive. Original review: I didn’t think the two fans actually make any difference since there isn’t much ducting to move the air over most of the heatsink, but I have the same but with passive cooling and the temperature difference is substantial.

Holes and everything are upside down and if anyone checked item pictures you will see that every picture are different (case installation way)

I am pleased with the case. As per another review, the self-adhesive heat conductive pads are nice and thin but break easily upon separating from the protective strips, as per the other review I was able to salvage enough of each pad. Overall I am pleased and likely to buy more.

Managed to reduce heat on my pi

Using this as a local NAS, with a 500gb chip in a USB socket and a 6tb external drive connected. Running Samba so the MS boxes can map drives. The case is fine. Fans are quiet for now. I'm not over clocking the Pi, so heat really isn't a problem. This seems like a good choice.

No issues with installation and the fans are doing a good job keeping the pi 4 cool.

En rajoutant ce radiateur, le microprocesseur est bien refroidi. Il peut développer toute sa puissance, et sous Linux le Raspberry est suffisamment rapide pour les taches bureautiques, internet et multimédia courantes.
