It will last you a long time. 33 oz is enough to treat about 220 gallons! Thats about enough for 21 water changes (if you do 10 gallons each time). 1 tablespoon for every 5 gallons = 6 tablespoons or 3/8 of a cup. I have a 29 gallon tank and I do water changes biweekly (mollys poop a lot). I recommend this as some water filtering systems and treatments remove vital electrolytes. Think of it as Gatorade or alkaline mineral water for your fish. Its also good to have for when they are a bit under the weather. **Q: How much do you put in to make a fresh water 3 gallon fish tank a brackish fish tank for my dwarf pufferfish** A: I put a tablespoon per 10 gallons, but mine aren't brackish tanks. Have had a Green Spotted Puffer for 5-6 years and it does fine in freshwater. Don't know if other kinds can be freshwater. **Q: It says to use for up to 10 days only, right? What happens after that? Same old maintenance, and the fins will continue to heal? Thank you in advance.** A: It is not listed in the instructions to only use for 10 days. We would recommend to dose the aquarium and the salt will continue to be in there. The only time you would re-add salt is when water is removed and added back in. ## Frequently Bought Together - API AQUARIUM SALT Freshwater Aquarium Salt 67-Ounce Box (Packaging May Vary) - API STRESS COAT Aquarium Water Conditioner 16-Ounce Bottle - API MELAFIX Freshwater Fish Bacterial Infection Remedy 16-Ounce Bottle --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/254219447-api-aquarium-salt-freshwater-aquarium-salt-67-ounce-box-packaging](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/254219447-api-aquarium-salt-freshwater-aquarium-salt-67-ounce-box-packaging) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-20*
