Good scribe, strong magnet
I had this scribe for years then I lost it and bought another one. The bit wasn't held tightly but I took off the cone that holds it and sanded off a mm on the back and then it clamped tighter

Fantastic, but it's a little pricey.
Fantastic! It gets the job done but it's a little pricey.

Handy but with Some Quirks
Handy but with Some QuirksI’ve been using this tungsten carbide scribe for marking lines on metal and wood, and it does a solid job overall. The tip is sharp and makes clean, precise marks without much pressure, and I like that it’s replaceable—that’s a thoughtful touch for long-term use. The built-in magnet also comes in handy for picking up small screws or nails when I drop them, which happens more often than I’d like to admit. That said, the pen itself feels a bit lighter and less sturdy than I expected for something labeled “tungsten carbide.” It doesn’t have the heft of a premium tool, and the copper finish, while nice looking, doesn’t add much grip. Also, the cap can loosen up if you’re not careful, which made me worry about losing it in a busy workshop.Still, for quick marking jobs and the occasional magnetic pickup, it’s a useful little tool that I’ve been reaching for regularly. It’s not industrial-grade, but for everyday hobbyist or DIY use, it gets the job done.Bottom line: A good value tool for casual use—precise tip and handy magnet, but build quality feels a little on the light side.

Seems To Work
This does scratch a line on mild steel, and it is fairly visible. Time will tell if the point last long.

very nice, low priced scribe
bought it because i lost my last one and i dont think i'll be very happy losing this one. larger than my last one with a surprisingly powerful magnet on the rear of it. yes you have to twist the cap on fairly tight in order for it to not slip out at all, but do you really need to tighten it that much? also, for the person who said what do you need the clip for other than poking holes in your shirt, reverse the scribe point in the thing and you wont poke holes in anything and it holds it in very nicely. though i do wish the knurling was a little more aggressive, its plenty for normal use. my only problem is "made in china", while i do accept its a low priced scribe, my general tools thread pitch gauges were made in the u.s., as was one of my old automatic center punches made by general. guess they all have to go west sometime for the basic products.(leave us to make the harder stuff with higher quality)
