This is a simple but beautiful wedding card. The wooden ornament is glued with a tiny bit of rubber cement to the card and the gold string is secured inside the card so when it's presented - the heart ornament stays put when the card is opened. Most people think of ornaments at Christmas time; however, this ornament could easily be displayed year round. The portion of the heart that is cut away with the design is stained dark - it almost looks like the dove images and vine designs were made from a hot object that beautifully singed the wood. The back of the heart ornament is a slightly different color - it reminds me of an ivory marble tile. Although I didn't try to do so, both side of the ornament has a matte finish so I believe you could carefully write the date of the wedding and the couple's names on the ornament to personalize it (you'd just need to tact the edge down again with more rubber cement to secure it to the card). The edge around the design is only about 1/4" wide which doesn't provide a lot of room - but certainly enough room to write a small message of congratulations. I know my cards and other mementos from my Wedding day are still carefully packed away in a bin and I have not found the time to go through these items, even on milestone anniversaries, to refresh my memory of all the special guests who helped celebrate our big day (I hope to slow down enough some day to do that!). I would have loved to have received an ornament that was part of the card so that I could enjoy it year round in remembrance of our Wedding. A suggestion to make this card perfect would have been to include a faint image of a heart on the front of the card, under the ornament, so when the ornament is removed from the card, the front of the card does not look so barren. There is a slight "up-charge" for this card on Amazon. I paid $5.99 for the card however the price reflected on the back of the card is only $4.99. Truthfully, even at $5.99 I think it's reasonably priced, particularly since you are receiving a card AND a wooden ornament and I was unable to find this design at local stores that carried Hallmark cards. I'm very happy with this purchase and would purchase this card again.

This is a simple card both in terms of design as well as the message. That's getting hard to find with so many wedding cards going over-the-top in terms of messages. This keeps it simple and, in my opinion, makes it more effective than the more verbose ones. The card itself is nicely made with good quality stock.
