Very easy to use
I owned a detail shop 30 years ago, two companies that provided great products that I used back then were Meguiars and 3M. I didn't want to replace all my old stuff for high speed buffing right now and decided to try a trusted name like Meguiars again. This compound is more mild than I needed and expected, but that wasn't a bad thing, after using this compound, I went with the Meguiars polishing compound and together I got pretty darn good results. This compound is easy to use and great instructions, recommend.

Remove that scratch!Clean that headlight!
I used this with their foam applicator pads(link below). Shake the bottle then just apply to the pad, and scrub back and forth against the the scratched area for a good 10 seconds really fast. Scrub longer for the older scratches. Then clean with a cotton fiber towel or with another unused pad. If scratches are too deep, it’ll just be less noticeable. It also works with cleaning your headlights. forgot to take before pics for the headlights so not posting any pics for that. If you notice in the after pic, it also got a bit shinier after the rubbing compound.Update: 09/30/2019Uploaded before and after pics of my headlightMeguiar's W0004 Supreme Shine 4" Foam Applicator Pads, 4 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002J8379C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ta5pDbE50EAAA

Not a rubbing compound
I use a lot of Meguiars products, and I needed some rubbing compound. Since I have been around a while, I had a traditional idea about what it should do. Remember the DuPont No. 7 tubs of polishes? There was "polishing compound," which was a light formula, and "rubbing compound," which was heavier duty. I expected this to be a rubbing compound, meaning it had a formula for deep scratches and cleaning. This is not a rubbing compound. It's so mild it has almost no effect on most scratches. Its really a polish, much like Show Car Glaze. To me, it looks and smells like glaze. It works fine as a polish prior to waxing with yellow liquid wax. I think in their zeal to produce a product that could be used by anyone, they have come up with something that will not satisfy a more experienced car owner.

Removes light scratches and oxidation - no harm to car's paint job!
I had a very noticeable oxidation stain on my car's black paint job from bird droppings and was upset that I would have to shell out a lot of money to a body shop to sand it and repaint it. I thought I'd search for do-it-yourself solutions first and came across Meguiar's Rubbing Compound. I was very skeptical that a) this would further damage my car's paint and b) it wouldn't remove the deep stain. However, after applying with Meguiar's soft foam applicator pads (also highly recommended for this purpose), I was surprised to find that not only did this not harm the paint job in any way, it drastically reduced the appearance of the oxidation. While it did not completely remove it, it reduced the oxidation to an acceptable level to where taking it to a body shop would be a waste of money. I also recommend purchasing the Meguiar's polishing compound with this as well as the two create a really nice 1-2 combo to removing and buffing any stains or scratches. You can use this on your car's paint with confidence, it works!

Quality Product and Easy to Use.
This Meguiar's G18016 Clear Coat was an amazing rubbing compound and really left a shine. My black truck has beaten-up by the weather, especially the hot desert sun and sand storms. I used a little elbow grease and Meguiar's took the fade and dullness of my paint and made it glossy again. The only weakness is the rubbing compound settling in the microscopic cracks and pits left by sand storms which is obvious on my black paint, but that happens with any rubbing compound from what I understand. The shine still makes it worth it. My truck is pretty again!
