The entire half tilts out for the light angle adjustment which can be confusing because it's easier to grab the tilting part than the part that opens and closes the back. The way to tell which to pry open (and the first time I had to get a flat head screwdriver because it was stuck) and which is the tilt, there is an "eye" type tab on the top front (the side that has the two buttons that turn the lights on and off). It's like a slot. I found that because there are hinges on the opposite side which indicates it's going to open in that direction (as opposed to tilt or do the angle thing) in that direction. Unhook that giant slot with a screwdriver or something, and the hinges will open. Battery slot for 2 batteries is about the only thing inside. **Q: What is the different between spot light and flood light? Do I need flood light?** A: Spot light is brighter in the central and illuminate far away, suitable for outdoor running or cycling.
