I’m not at home so can’t take a close look. Ceramic part is probably the “base” part of the brush. I love this brush.

Best brush for almost any styling.

One of the best brushes I’ve ever used, it’s comfortable to hold , lightweight, will grip the hair for getting the hair smooth, easy to put a bevel in. I use it daily, recommend it to my students and guests.
